I appreciate the technique tips from someone so good, but I would love to have seen a visual/video of someone performing it simultaneously so I could better picture some of the points she mentioned. I think I understand, but some comparative video would have allowed me to confirm my understanding :)

I need a lot of help with my technique and didn’t find this video very helpful. Probably more beneficial for those further along with the stroke, but not very helpful to me. More slow motion capture under water and drills to break down the entire stroke would have been more helpful.
@jennybegs4 жыл бұрын
same i do wild swimming I don't do it for speed and I just stay with my head above the water I've not had any training and ny knee is starting to click and other ppl are faster than me even though I feel like I'm doing a lot of work so my technique must be totally wrong, i wpild prefer to see these shots in slow motion would have helped more!
@albertseanchen79294 жыл бұрын
@@jennybegs stay with it. I’ve progressed since that post. One of the lifeguards at the fitness center where I swim gave me good feedback with the hand stroke which I used to do TOTALLY incorrect 😑🤦🏽♂️. It has made a huge difference where I can get a decent bob out of the water. He also observed my kick and told me to keep the knees straight to the bottom of the pool (I tended to turn my knees outward, taking away some of the force from the hamstrings). Now...I’m trying to do a better job of turning my feet 🦶 outward before the kick before pointing them back afterwards. If you can get somebody to observe or film what you’re doing it makes a world of difference. In addition, look at other videos. There are some that break down the stroke better than this one. Just don’t give up.

Ok, so legs come underneath, not out to the side. Arms start to pull once legs are straight. Arms not too wide and push water to the back, before resetting and legs go again! A lot to remember, but will try next time I'm in the pool! 👍

I am a little confused on the arm movements for the breaststroke. Is there a catch and pull back of the water with high elbows or not? I was told that the arms in the breast stroke squeeze the water down to elevate the body as much as possible so you can glide and push with your feet as effectively as possible with hardly any drag! What an amazing stroke! I would use the dauphin kick when breast stroking if it was up to me. 😁😁😁! I will keep working on the breaststroke as my butterfly stroke keep improving as I improve on my breast stroke! How weird is that?

That was great. Please please could you explain to me how you/proper breast strokers get your upper body so fat out of the water? Is that arm/shoulder strength or a technique thing? Also please could you explain what part of your head touches the water first? I watch other swimmers in the pool and it almost looks like they ‘dip’ their heads and touch the water first with their foreheads. Is this what I’m meant to be doing? Sorry one last thing-I know there is 8x more drag in water than air but is their more or less if you are completely submerged or break g the surface of the water (as you glide for example) Thanks so much. Breast stroke done well looks amaaaaazing. I want that!
