How To Swim Breaststroke For Beginners | Detailed Technique

In this video you are going to learn breaststroke swimming for beginners. The breaststroke may be the most challenging swimming stroke to master, but if you can do it correctly, it can be a great alternative swim stroke for you. Breaststroke is a “slow” swimming stroke in which you keep your body low in the water. How well you swim breaststroke is mostly determined by your pulls and kicks.

I've been swimming breastbone for 70 years and just learned the following from your excellent video: the arms should go down perpendicular to the body and not swept back further below the body, bring the arms forward with the palms pointing upwards before joining the hands in prayer position, legs brought close to the backside and turn feet outwards when kicking, start the kick when the arms are halfway to fully extended and not to wait forthe kick when you start the glide. I hope I understood and thanks a lot.
