In the previous Breath of Fire games, Myria was clearly evil. Maybe why Jono says she is evil is because of all the harm she caused in the past. Maybe Myria's goal is indeed one of evil, but it's not something that we see ingame, so it's really ambiguous. Maybe she really changed, but Jono thinks it's too dangerous to leave the world in her palm (and I agree with him). The Brood let itself be annihilated because if they did fought back, they could've destroyed the world. They're that powerful.

She killed people because they were powerful. Besides, her influence on the world was unnatural, as Yggdrasil said. Myria also tried to limit scientific progress by preventing humanity from creating machines too powerful, for example. The heroes kill her for various reason: to avenge the Brood, to avenge Teepo, to stop her unnatural influence, to remove the world from the paw of just one dangerous being, to prove that humanity can survive without a goddess shepherding it.

Ah homie. Your comment sections are good. But if you wrote up your reviews in actual vids, it would be awesome content. BOF is a still small community. 👍

that's why I love so much myria as a villain, a goddess who's keeping the world into her hands and only shows herself as a "mother" and a good being making it to protect the world but it's indeed evil deep inside, is a really awesome and unique concept

Teepo... understood that the Brood was the most powerful thing in the world, with God. He could not bear such a great power, and was afraid he may endanger the world. He says that humans are despicable and only want more and more power: he was afraid humans would be able to manipulate him and use him to do harm. Myria used that fear to make him stay on the orbital station: here, he could do no harm to the world and nobody could manipulate him into doing so (Myria could, but she didn't want to).

A truly special thing about this game was that the music fit very well with the scene, allowing the player to feel involved... In this respect, Angel Tower stands out the most for me

The ending clearly show that she was protecting the world. When she's alone and dying, she wonders how she could have protected the world in a better way, and asks "If there is a God, tell me what I did wrong!". She isn't evil - she's crazed and obsessed. She's even the one creating Chrysm and sending machines to the continent where humans live, to help them live better.

@ILOVETODANCELOL What about Jono's speech? he's efering to the earlier BoFs. That still makes Myria inconsistent since what you say is also true and she isn't outright destroying the world etc. - it doesn't appear like she is clearly evil, but Jono tells you she is and he has the references to back him up. Maybe she only seems deranged because there's still stuff around powerful enough to defeat her if she openly reveals herself as that same old evil Myria, so she can't admit her real motives?

xD also happened to me! not only was I in level 60 when i came out, rei and garr were only level 40 and 4 years had passed in real life!! I would never figure out that in order to open that path you would have to stay still.

@ILOVETODANCELOL Oh yeah, forgot about the ending. Well, that makes it rather unclear to me as to why she was a bad influence on the world. It's not like she promoted ignorance or anything else bad, AFAIK. So why exactly did they have to kill her? Unless I just haven't received all of the information, that would make BoF 3's plotline even more interesting...

@ILOVETODANCELOL I doubt Myria was protecting the world, unless there is no connection to the earlier games. There would be no better cover for slowly destroying the world than convincing people you're trying to protect it. She simply cannot reveal her real intentions and act on them yet, because the world isn't weak enough yet - that's why she tried to kill the Brood - so she takes on the ruse that she's ''protecting'' the world. Or she just wants stuff to suffer, and to control the world.

Sorry to correct you, man, but the real name of this track is "Of Dragons and God". You can confirm it at the Fairy Village's BGM test.

Oh, you're right. Anti-Historical is the name given to the track on the Japanese soundtrack CD, which is what I used for reference when I made these videos. I edited the title and description accordingly though now! Thanks for the heads up!

@ILOVETODANCELOL Also, what about Teepo? was he just brainwashed or was there something else at work as he seems oddly convinced of something which not even he can provide any rational explanation for? and why did the Brood let itself be annihilated? Also, if Myria isn't evil etc. then how does one explain Jono's speech? This game has more unanswered questions than.... anything else I've ever played. And I haven't even played this game, the storyline is just that interesting.
