My Pastor is having trouble wrestling with the Mormon debate, and how these very nice, talented people, who happen to be Mormons, can be my favorite inspirational artists, especially during this Advent Season!? Steven Nelson is amazing, in this song and always! Perfectly complementary is right! I've missed him in their last few concerts I've watched online! I don't know how on Earth you transported that piano to the Bonneville Salt Flats but it really made this video magical! I'm a videographer/photographer and I shoot there all the time. It is a place where Heaven and Earth blend seamlessly. I love this video! It is literally a breath of Heaven! 💝🙏💝

From the Southern part, filled with majestic canyons and arches, to the Western deserts and places like the Bonneville Salt Flats, the Eastern mountains and valleys with world class skiing venues and the North that looks like Norway in places and has a huge turquoise blue, crystal lake... It's like living in a small town in a huge state. Many of the people descend from North Western Europeans, who first came as pioneers, and they were very connected to the land and it's bounty. Wonderful!! Beautiful setting. This song needs to be a duet. Joseph’s voice needs to be heard too, as he has many of the same questions, doubts and fears as Mary. Mat provided that voice perfectly by only singing those lyrics that would have been Joseph’s concern. This simple song, portrayed by a young woman of Mary’s age, is so meaningful. A heartwarming presentation, and my newest favorite! 💕

Trying to capture the “golden hour” and filming at sunset is such a difficult thing to do. Everything has to be caught on practically the first take and you have to have it all mapped out to be done before you lose your light (or film over a series of nights, which has logistical problems of its own when you bring a piano along for the ride). I watched with a practiced eye as each edit matched closely the lighting of the previous scene. Kudos to your videographer for knowing what he needed and getting it done while the “magic” was still there. This was a stunning accomplishment given your window of time in which to do it.

This seems to me that it was filmed at sunrise as there are no shadows in the beginning and there is no sunlight on their hair until the end of the song. There are also long shadows that say to me that the sun was just rising behind them. Can someone tell me who is correct and why?

Videos are not filmed in sequential order, so you can't look at the first scene and assume it was filmed first. The Salt Flats are west of Salt Lake City. If you film at sunrise you would be pointing your camera towards the city and an international airport at its busiest time of day and constantly have aircraft taking off or landing in your shot. So the best time of day to shoot at the flats is sunset. You also don't have to deal with dew on the piano at that time of day, or steamy breath from the actors due to the morning chill.

Thank you so much for all these kind words! It was a CRAZY shoot! When we arrived at the salt flats, it was partly cloudy and looked like we would only have 2 5 or so minute windows of sunlight with the rest being overcast. We decided to shoot all the overcast first (2nd verse and Chorus) and the moment the sun popped out, we filmed the very ending and once the sun dipped over the horizon we filmed the very beginning of savanna walking. It still would've been cool to just film the video beginning to end during the overcast but we decided to tell a little bit of a story with it starting out dark and dreary then beautiful and bright at the end. It took a lot of last minute planning but it looks like it all came together! This was one of the riskiest shoots I've done as far as lighting goes but it paid off!

Hi Matt and Savanna, I am a massive fan of Claire Crosby. Can I say a massive thank you for your comments on the Crosby's. I have also looked in on some of your work which I have enjoyed as I do love listening to Christian songs. I know there is a lot of very hard work that goes into producing these videos, so thank you for all your hard work. Where Claire is concerned I do fear that Claire may become just another KZbin singer as she has so much talent and not just with singing. Claire is very lucky to have 2 such wonderful parents. But I feel she may drift into obscurity unless she gets a professional manager. I hope not as she has worked so hard at such a young age. Well keep up the good Christian songs and I will keep looking in. Thanks and love from the UĶ.
