Another great video now that it’s the time of year for butchering maybe you could do some more meat preservation I was thinking, may be you could make pemmican the stuff last forever and it’s such a great emergency survival food
@apinchofpatience Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes, I am excited to be working on more meat curing! I just received my beef order last weekend and am butchering some ducks tomorrow so I will be working on videos for bresola and "jewish ham" shortly! I have had a lot of requests for pemmican... and I've been dragging my feet because it sounds gross to me! lol I should give it a try and maybe just do a small batch to test it out!
@Shadow_Wraith Жыл бұрын
@@apinchofpatienceYou can add dried fruit and nuts and also honey or maple syrup to pemmican to make it more palatable.
@apinchofpatience Жыл бұрын
@countryside_guy yes! I'm doing some more research on it now and I'm going to definitely try one that has some spices or extras in it to be more tasty, survival food is wonderful, but I like to eat all my food too 😄

Are you still planning to do a video about making apple cider vinegar? I'd love to see that! I'd also like to learn about what you're growing in your windowsill!
@apinchofpatience Жыл бұрын
I am! I am almost ready to film a vinegar video because I have apples on hand, a finished batch, and a half way done batch, so I could show all the steps! 😄 my windowsil has a button fern in it, it's the only house plant I've ever kept alive at this point! 😂

Thanks, great video. I've always heard black pepper and turmeric work well and enhance each other, so I may add a little black pepper. Would the cayenne have the same effect with the turmeric?
@apinchofpatience Жыл бұрын
Thank you! Yes black pepper and turmeric are great used together to help the turmeric be more bio available, if you are going to use a large amount of turmeric definitely add some black pepper to help you get the most out of it! Cayenne does not perform the same function.

Just leave it out if it doesn't sit well with you! Horseradish, onion, ginger, oregano, lemon, Cayenne, so many other amazing options, garlic won't make or break your fire cider, just use what works for you ☺️

Simplify it to your own tastes! I believe I also showed an example of a totally wild crafted batch with wild oregano, horseradish, and calendula. Super simple or more complex, both are wonderful!
