Haven’t driven it much. I was about to start fixing the humvee last quarter of 2021 and the parts que wanted are no longer in circulation. I’ve been really busy with my career and haven’t been able to put the time a had before. I’m thinking of taking it to someone and just filming the updates.

Reason I ask about filter. I came across one guy that said the filter cause some damage to his engine. But I have found only one person who said that. Everyone else had great reviews
@mods2rides2 жыл бұрын
@@angelsoverme Honestly I always change the filters in all my vehicles. The new cars come really restricted so they pass emissions and that specific filter on the military humvee was designed to be able to drive through desert storms with out clogging up. Unless you’re gonna be driving through desert storms then the K&N should be fine. I dunno what the facts are for the gentleman who said his got damaged from a filter that lets more air in. The engine is designed to be fully functional without a filter. The filters purpose is just to stop dirt and air particles from clogging the engine and damaging the pistons. People always blame and are scared of what they do not know or understand. I love Florida, I have family there. Unfortunately I’m in west Texas. I’ll get it fixed up. I just realigned some short term goals to able to have good cashflow to fund these projects. Another reason I put the project in hold was that I was about to buy the roof kit with power doors and they don’t make power doors anymore. There’s a company that makes them however they want $15k just for the 4 power doors. Originally Midwest military equipment had quoted me the roof kit with power doors for $9k shipped. Sadly they no longer carry the doors. So I took it as a sign to put it on hold and just pay off all my debt lol.

Checkout lizard skin for sound & heat proofing!😎👍

I’ve seen their product line. IMO it’s pricey and looking for other alternatives. Check out ceramic microspheres. From hytech. I have some and doing a project at my house. If they work I will be using them for heat barrier on the humvee. That technology blocks out heat. For sound insulation I have a lot of dynamat material.

You don't get more power from a k&n you just suck up more dirt, snake oil. They are a rip off, save your money for a engine upgrade for a bigger turbo

Omg 😱 that’s not water proof because inside is an rubber elbow. Not the box where it is 🤦🏻

What rubber elbow you're talking about? I'm thinking about doing this but I want it to still be capable of fording
@jimbella9353 Жыл бұрын
@@hummerguy The "rubber elbow" being discussed is installed on all USMC HMMWVs we build. Rubber elbow or not a HMMWV was not designed to do more than 30 inches (shallow water fording) without the "FULL" Deep Water (for up to 60 inches) Fording Kit installed. Of course there have been some who have tried to go deeper and lived to tell about it!😂 FYI: The entire HMMWV's Air Induction System was very specifically designed to perform in very specific ways. By "modifying" part of that complete system it may affect more than one other system. For example; venting for ALL gear boxes "WAS" dependent on a (calibrated) amount of vacuum created when the engine is running through that "NOW MODIFIED" air induction system!!! PS: [the good part of this modification is if one never drives their HMMWV they will not find out of these modifications will cause gear box seal leaks (insufficient ventilation) or gear box fluids to be sucked into the air cleaner/engine (too much vacuum).

@@jimbella9353very insightful, was thinking about modifying mine to get better airflow but now because of this I probably won’t, I do have a 4 speed 4L80 in mine with its own trans cooler ect but the engineering seems to be beyond me, would love to chat Humvees with you and get educated because I’m a new owner do you have a contact?
