Im getting good at finishing projects that I started a long time ago. I started this one last august and from time to time, when I got inspired I continued working on it.
this video had a major identity crisis throughout the year I was making it because when I started it I planned to base it on season 6, and then season 7 came out and had the voicemail storyline so I wanted to base some of it on that, and then the series finale came out and made it even more problematic for this video to make sense to me. At the end I kind figured it out, and I'm happy I "waited" because it feels complete.
I'm even kinda happy with the result. Their relationship is so complex to show all the sides of it in one video. so what I tried to show here is what I think is sort of a cognitive gap in alicia's mind: between what she felt after he died (love of her life who got away) and what was really happening between them in reality before his death. I tried to show the contradiction and the conflict, and I hope I managed and you see it as well.
Their relationship will always be so special to me. It's full of so many different emotions: love, passion, regret, guilt, hate, respect. And I even with the deeply (deeply!) flawed season 7, I was happy how they dealt with the will aspect of alicia's life. I don't think I have ever seen a show that dealt better with a character death than this one. The show chose to embrace it and not run away with it, and despite everything, I think it shows a lot of respect to the viewers.

I want to thank you, truly thank you. Because of somehow accidentally clicking one of your willicia vids a few months ago, and only seeing a few seconds of it, i thought it would be amazing. I started tgw and fell so in love with it, willicia, babies. I grabbed back to your amazing videos, they are all so beautiful. You're very talented, i just needed to let you know because it has to be said. I just finished season 5, and eventhough i'm hella sad, you're videos are so worth coming back to every now and then. Gal, you didn't just do this. I know this comment isn't going to be very articulate because I am fairly speechless at this point but my god, this is phenomenal. You know what you do better than anyone else, you choose the scenes that NEED to be chosen. You always seem to just put the scenes in the right order and to the right lyrics in a way that evokes these incredible emotions and then I'm just left in awe. This is without a doubt one of my absolute favourites of yours and of any WA video in general. (also side note, I completely agree with you - so many flaws of S7, and S6 for that matter - but how they wrote her relationship with Will, from start to finish, was just perfect).

OKAY. finally from my laptop I can watch this. I have watched this and I am just... WHAT HAVE I JUST WATCHED EXACTLY? this is not a fan video. this is not a ship video. this is more. it's like I was taken from my body and I was Alicia for 4+ minutes, feeling everything she felt and reliving everything she'd been through and it was almost horrible, really, because I got to 3:04 and felt like I could not breathe anymore (no pun intended). that's what this vid does. it takes the air out of your lungs. that's how agonizingly beautiful it is. like...how carefully you chose every damn, beautiful frame. how you put them altogether in the instrumental alternating fhsjhfjshjkisses and ANGST and pinkie holdings and whatever this was so incredibly great to watch (technically) but it was also tormented and painful and everything, really. I can't imagine how I'd feel if I watched the show - probably worse, probably better because videos like this one are the gift every shipper dreams of. this probably topped the sfu ending sequence... could also work as the official video for the song - I bet this was exactly what Sia was going for when she wrote the song. BOSSY GAL, YOU HAVE MY HEART.

I don't even watch The Good Wife but you laid out the story and the emotions so clearly that it was like a map to follow from beginning to end and it's so amazing. Gal, you know I haven't watched TGW yet but honestly, this video killed me. The simple editing you do but with so much emotional depth, it truly is an art and you honestly make the best videos for this couple and I honestly look forward to your vids for them, without even having watched the show. The end segment where you showed all the ups and downs of their relationship in that sort of montage was so genius and heartbreaking and then how you tied that last shot of her deleting that voicemail with the first shot, SO BRIALLIANT!
