Never thought about adding resistance to my breathing! So technically i can achieve a similar exercise (though less precise) by breathing in through my nose while obstructing a piece of cloth, my hands (using the meat between my thumb and index finger) or my forearms (pressing the nose to the side). Thanks for the tip!

It will seriously change your life. Was just talking to George Reeder from Rovner Products about this at NAMM

Hi have issues with breathing too especially with the fires and seasonal allergies. I also purchased and air purifier to help. I also do inhalers as needed. I also have an air builder that seems to be similar to this breathing tool. So my question is it the same. I have so much improvement with my aire with the air builder that you recommended in on of your videos. Thanks for that. I know you will do whatever it takes to breath better.

I know you get more fires by you, for sure, and the air quality can be miserable. I have an air purifier as well - def a necessity. From playing trumpet so many years, I have a bunch of breathing devices that most saxophone players never even heard of. I've used each for a different purpose, but if you feel your air builder is similar, no need to buy this too. Thanks for sharing :)

@@DonnaSchwartz I am not sure. I do know they are more breathing machines. I am asking is this one similar or serves a different purpose. That sound of it sounds similar to a nebulizer too. Thanks

Hi! the video is very useful! I have a question, how do you take breath after the first note of a beat?

Sorry about your diagnosis. I am sure you'll overcome this blip in the road. How does this device compare to the ping ping ball in the cylinder that you reviewed a few years ago?
@DonnaSchwartz3 жыл бұрын
Both are great and have a different purpose. The other one os to keep the air consistent from inhalation to exhalation. This one is to open up the airways and increase lung capacity (or at least maintain it)

Sounds great! but can the power breather, help you in circular breathing for the saxophone?
@DonnaSchwartz2 жыл бұрын
No - this would not help simulate circular breathing.

How do you think this compares with the Breath Builder, also advocated for wind musicians?
@DonnaSchwartz2 жыл бұрын
I've used the Breath Builder since the early 90's, when Vince Penzarella had me get one. Different purpose - breath builder isea is to keep the ball up, power breathe needs much more support to get started, and there are many levels to it. Really great for asthma sufferers to help open up the lungs - I use it for that too

Thanks for letting us know It seems that the real company may not be on Amazon (looks like Chinese knock offs on there). I added the link to the company site in the Details. Here it is as well: www.powerbreathe.com/product-category/breathing-trainers/plus-inspiratory-muscle-training-imt/

Cheap version of this is a balloon.

Yes, but it doesn't give you the resistance levels ;)
