I am a New Zealander, and I love that we led you to Permaculture. I am elderly and have very little land, but I do try to grow my tiny 5 metre by 1/2 metre veg garden on permaculture principles. I am organic, do cut and drop, and mulch with pea straw. Now in early summer, i start my day with a breakfast entree of strawberries, green peas or baby beans, and sweet 100 baby tomatoes. Oh to be young and knowing what I know now. So few of the kids today grow gardens. Please encourage children viewers. One can grow a lot in one square metre.

I am teaching my toddler to garden with the permaculture my mother taught me. Our front yard garden has inspired 4 of my neighbors teens to do the same and we are all helping each other.
@jeanrichardson20446 сағат бұрын
@MyRamblingRose86 that is wonderful, and may be the difference for their future families between being fed or hungry. Most New Zealanders have access to a small amount of land but many harvest nothing. A feijoa or lemon tree will produce with virtually no care.

Very inspiring! I was confused by seeing all the eucalyptus, though. I went to their channel and saw the video in which Dan explains why and how they are growing eucalyptus. I'm still surprised to see this.
@HuwRichards10 сағат бұрын
It's a lot about context, and they are not for everyone, but are for others. I am considering one flush of eucalyptus to help protect the establishment of a thick native wind barrier

I think they are sincere in their beliefs but in my experience, and pretty fair to say, in the experience of most of the world’s billions of people over time -it is not always possible (or even common) to rise above one’s circumstances. I am glad they have been able to do that in their lives but to assume that is possible for everyone suggests that failing is necessarily a personal failure rather than consider the many ways in which we lack control over the circumstances of our lives - ranging from poverty, disability, social /economic structures, geopolitics, climate and other natural disasters.
