Thank you for sharing this, its just like my garden where I grew up, I also had an orchard, but my mother "Tidyed it up", which was rather sad, she just turned it into a lawn, the reverse of whats being done here!! Gardens like this are really magical, and Im hoping to keep on with working on my own little garden. To make it much more like this one!! Again,~thank you Ben and Wade for showing us round!!

I have to say Wade has packed a lot in a small space and everything was thriving. We have a low river valley and frost creates difficulties here. Would love it if the fruit trees start producing and I try to get late season varieties. I could only hope our apple trees would take off-they struggle and I’m clueless on any spraying regimen. I do a horticultural oil/copoer spray in early spring. I should have bought all apple cedar rust resistant as it’s proving to be a problem. Love the animals, but I’m surprised they don’t eat everything up. Our new crank composter I’m liking very much as we use a tub under it and catch the leachate as he does similar in pails. Hoping it will be enough to eliminate costly fertilizer. Very smart gardener and he’s really made a small space look ginormous. Thx Ben!

I think the animals are usually kept clear of the veggies. 😀

Thank you for showing us round your garden, Mr Muggleton. I’m about to do something similar with our garden. Old garden; new gardener. It’s daunting. Particularly as our garden is currently very attractive, with flower borders, lawn, rockeries and established (non productive) shrubs etc… I want to turn it into a veg plot. I also don’t want to lose the “grand view” along the entire length of the burgage plot. I’ll have to work on my plans all winter 😊

Oh how motivating with all the creative uses of reuse and his watering system, just wow. I need to collect water here in the PNW so will find some barrels. Love the hedge type apple tree growth and thinking of learning how to graft . Wonder if you can graft a peach? Does it have to be peach stalk to graft to?
@vivb.7161Ай бұрын
Better do the rain water collection behind a fence bc its illegal in your area! Authoritarian rule in all it's glory!
@youwhogirl7702Ай бұрын
@ I have heard this, I have had a catch barrel before off a gutter that makes a mess where I walk. It broke so I intend to replace it with one I can put a faucet on.. it is sort of hidden by a tree and bush.
@dustyflats3832Ай бұрын
@@youwhogirl7702the water rights vary in many western states. Just have to look it up. I’m sure it’s not a huge issue unless every household did it, but that’s just my thought.

Peaches are best grafted onto a peach rootstock to avoid incompatibility issues. Apricots and plums are more forgiving and can be grafted onto peach, plum or apricot rootstock.
