Humble suggestion* I would NOT put hot water on your client's hair. The hot water is only necessary to seal the END of braid hair and isn't needed at all on the human bulk hair either. I think DIYers and stylists do this out of habit, but boiling or very hot water damages our natural hair and we should refrain from doing this. You can wet the hair down with a spray bottle.
