Brechin

Brechin is a town in Angus. The Brechin Cathedral can be found within the town. It's also the home of the Brechin/Angus Book Festival, which I took part in and shot a video of, which is up on my writers channel. I stayed in the Northern Hotel.

Wow the nostalgia. Lived in Brechin from 89-91 before moving to Balrownie (Little Brechin in case people haven't heard of it) as my dad was in the Royal Navy at the time and was stationed at RAF Edzell (deployed from Rosyth) , went to Brechin High as well. When I lived there I loved it especially during the summer when I used to cycle around the surrounding countryside. And because the United States Armed Forces were also at RAF Edzell, I got to make friends with kids from the United States and play their sports with them (and experience their foods and amazing BBQ's), and it was so much fun. I really miss that period very badly, so many great memories.

Thankyou for the memories, i lived in Brechin as a wean first River St and then Dramachlie Park before moving to Fife, but my heart still belongs to Brechin.

thanks for this walk about. recently discovered ancestors from Ardovie, Brechin and Stracathro (Forbes, Langsandie, and Speid, 1600-1800) so it's nice to see the town . happy travels. sláinte

My Forbes ancestor worked for the Speid family at Ardovie. He was the gardener. I hope to visit there in the next few years.

Definitely interesting for myself as I have actually traced back through my family tree and discovered my great great grandfather actually grew up there before he moved to Edinburgh to study medicine. My great grandfather moved to New Zealand and now here I am a kiwi with Scottish heritage watching someone walk around the home of my ancestors on you tube pretty cool. I'm definitely going to visit this place someday.

@@AScottishOdyssey you missed a large portion of the town out, I understand it's hard to get everything in an unfamiliar town. You should revisit though.

@@AScottishOdyssey there is a cottage just outside brechin where parents of Arthur Davidson stayed, founder of the motorcycle company Harley Davidson stayed, the festival is coming up soon. Brechin castle is also a sight to see. I look forward to your next video of brechin if you make it back

I have family from kirriemuir, is it possible you can post a video walking down store lane which is across the road from the Newton Hotel? Store lane was the house I grew up in id love to see that place again
