Well, I ordered two roses from Brecks. They were shipped in separate weeks, the first rose came in a plastic bag no newspaper paper loose with no ties. The second rose got “lost” with UPS. I called the company it was a bareroot Rose and I had many concerns that it was just too long on the truck. After being switched around two call centers overseas it would not connect me with a supervisor. Long story short I finally got a return phone call after three days from a supervisor and she told me I could pick out a replacement of course they were all sold out. She did not want to issue me a refund. I also ordered irises that came in a box a few months back they were not packed in sawdust or any sort of protection. They were rolling around in the box when I open the box!! I’ll let you know if those irises pop up I live in the north east zone 7A so it’s still too early for them. So I do not have a good review of Brecks I am sorry to say.

It is so refreshing to get frank, candid, honest experiences shared here on your channel. nursing is my bag had a terrible experience with Breck's and I want to hear about it. I had a poor experience with David Austin in Texas and you were quick to reply to me that, yes, they are having weather, rose culture, and staffing difficulties in early 2021. Thank you, Kimberley.

Were they actually the varieties that you paid for? I know they often send incorrect bulbs. I've never ordered roses from them.

When I started my more serious rose journey ( a few months ago, ha! not an aged veteran here) I certainly wondered about some of the growers and companies I was encountering. I think this series are going to be very useful for people! Last year, during a sale I ordered my first rose from Jung! I ordered Neptune, a hybrid tea. It came with the largest canes and soooo healthy, but I didn't know that wasn't really standard #1 rose. it was above and waaaaay beyond a pencil! I'm glad I watched your rose grade video before my roses start coming in, I'd probably be disappointed with the size of canes comparatively. I have Neptune still and it's looking good this year! I had a few pruning mishaps on it, cause I'm still learning. But it's got soo much new growth already! Have your ordered from Jungs? I'll probably seee what they have left for this summer sale again this year!

@@TheRoseGeek also in my search for a harder to find rose I found K and M, but I can’t tell if they’re opening for 2021. Have you ever ordered from them? I think they’re grafted on fortuniana so I wasn’t sure about that either. Kandmroses.com is their site. Out of my whole list they had the most of what I was looking for but I got scared and looked elsewhere. Curious if you have any experience wi the them? Also will you give us a garden tour pretty pleassse?😻😁

@@greybriar which zone are you in? If you are in a colder climate Fortuniana stock may be problematic. The owner at K&M shared with me last year that any rose I buy with their fortuniana stock, would die as soon as the frost hit. Looking at their websites, I am not sure they are opening this year. Is there a certain Rose you are looking for? I’ll keep an eye out for you. I am definitely going to do a rose tour as things start blooming. 🤩

@@TheRoseGeek ​ @The Rose Geek I'm in 6B. I wasn't sure about the Fortuniana stock, and didn't research it. I guess it's for warmer temps?Also, i'm so glad you've mentioned Helpmefind, i found it last last year and it's been a godsend ever since. It's so useful! I love all of the user photos of roses, as well as all of the information and ratings available. When I was searching for Poseidon ( My holy grale rose at the time), i believe it led me to KandM I ended up setting alerts to a few of the growers that grew it and Chamblee had it in stock first, so I grabbed two. I'm still on the hunt for a retired DA-- William Morris, so if you ever see that available -- let me know if you remember!! i love it, but heirloom roses stopped growing it . Again, I'm so thankful there are so many knowledge people on KZbin ( like yourself!) to help me on my rose journey! ( my comment isn't posting, so sorry if this is duplicated! )
