Brecon Beacon Motorbike Tour Part 1

The three of us escaped work and went and explored the Brecon Beacons.

Glad you enjoyed your ride to our region, its still in the same country though as you live!!.... the mountain you might have considered to be Pen Y Fan was infact Cwmwysg, Pen y Fan was some 10 miles south east of your location (Trecastle). Had you continued some 6 miles along the same road instead of turning onto the Eppynt military ranges at Llywel, you would have come across a place called Llandovery which has the Owls Nest Bikers Cafe - without question the best in Wales and has a massive attendance of bikers every day bar Mondays when it is closed. Another 'interesting' road, often used by Chris Northover from Bike world is the back road off the A4067 to the right not long after you mentioned the mountain which looked as if someone had chewed off the top - That road takes you back to Trecastle. Some of our best roads were to the north of Eppynt, Beulah to Tregarron or turn off to follow the LLyne Brianne reservoir road which leads back to Llandovery. Also if you head west from the Owls Nest, Llandovery along the A4069 to Llangadog, and take a turn to the south, you end up at the Black mountains, scene of many a Top Gear road test.....its marked as 40mph, but there are places where vision is good and bikers will play!!..... Hope you get back to enjoy more rides at some point.

Hi Paul The West End Cafe you visited, has always been the Bikers cafe to visit, for decades. Unfortunately the Owls Nest is now taking their trade away, undeservedly so, the owner is the most miserable Git.

HI Paul. when using the sena. Ignore yu tube recomended settings . Render in MOV. at 150000bits. this forces yu tube to treat your footage as 2k. :) reduces pixilation and artefacts :))). bostin trip. and sunshine. just missing Michels photos on this one 😪

Just read the comments. You have ridden across Sennybridge training Area. The red flag was flying which means the public have no access due to live firing.

The army said they had finished and just stick to the main route. We stopped at the bottom and they all came out for a chat and look at the bikes, many were bikers. Did not film this bit as i did not think they would want it, but really was made welcome.

Hi Chris I live local to the Military Road. 4 miles west of Sennybridge on the A40. Turn right onto the road at a village called Llywel. Ride Safely..
