Got mine exactly a week ago! So far so good for its appearance. I'm not seeing any redness or discoloration. I'm also cleaning it with saline solution that my piercer recommended. The only thing that bothers me is the uncomfortable feeling. You know when you poke your belly button you just kind of feel like peeing? Everyone planning on getting a navel piercing or has one that won’t heal should know that navel piercings are very anatomy dependent. The piercing won’t heal correctly unless your anatomy is suitable, your piercing could be fine now but migrate as you have it then reject.

I loved my belly button piercing but unfortunately after a year of having it, it rejected! I took such good care of it, didn’t change it until after it was fully healed, cleaned it every day twice a day with sea salt and warm water and it still rejected lol go figure lol 😂 I guess it just goes to show it can happen to anyone no matter how much they take care of it lol 😂 my body was just like nope lol

Personally I would wait until you hit whatever goal weight you want to reach. That way you can focus just on the piercing and not have to worry about it while working out/losing weight/etc. :) And it'll be such a nice little gift to yourself. I love that idea. :)

Yes that is very normal. :) How many times a day are you cleaning it? It may be itchy due to dryness/over cleaning. Just make sure you don't clean it more than 3x a day. :)

Thank for the video Bree :) I have a piercing question. Will my ear piercings EVER stop getting keloids? When the keloids develop, I use your recommendations of sea salt (well actually I buy sterile saline because my sea salt solution I made at home actually caused an infection, but the sterile saline is similar), and I use tea tree oil. I also have provon soap. I try not to sleep on them. But with all that, after they are all healed and beautiful again, out of nowhere a week or two later...BOOM...another keloid. It's sooooo annoying! Thank you, and Happy Holidays!!

Have you tried the "no-pull" piercing jewelry? They're like little plates that go on the back of jewelry and it's supposed to prevent those. I've never personally tried them but I hear really excellent things about them.

No, no pads or anything of that sort should ever go over the belly piercing while it's healing. It needs to breathe! Covering it is not wise. And no you shoukdnt take it out while it's healing. I went over that in the video :)

Redness can last for awhile. If it's severely red and has any warmth radiating off of it it would be irritation/infection.

I would definitely go see your piercer. They will either have to repierce it or they can slide a new piece of jewelry in. but I would have them do it so it is done by a pro and in an extra sanitary environment. :)
