I got mine pierced last night, so I've had it in a little over 24 hours- No redness, I don't think it's swollen at all. I did what my piercer instructed, and I'm kinda surprised it's not red or swollen at all. I may jinx myself and it'll be red and swollen tomorrow, but so far so good. I watched this video before I went in and just now again afterward. Thank you so much for your informative video. It really soothed my pre-piercing nerves and helped me understand the care I'd need to start as soon as I got it.

I think to have a good hygiene routine helps any wound heal. I didn't do the salt water. I used saline solution and bactine to an extent in which it wasn't excessive 1ce or 2ce but my area was kept clean. Loose clothing no jeans. Not touching my peircing with dirty hands. No moving or touching my piercing unless it was by my own body movement. No body soaps or any type of cleaning solution that wasn't the wound wash went near my fresh navel peircing for the first 2 weeks ( I did miracles with those showers, shower ninja) no washing my body with anything that might hook onto my piercing and tug on it. It took my body 6-7 months to finally heal my navel. I think every piercer is different every body is different. I went to mine because of his 12 years exp
@voltaiccorsair94156 жыл бұрын
Necroing this comment because information is important, saline solution is literally salt water. The salt to water ratio is all that determines if it can go in your body or be used to clean wounds.

How’s your piercing now? Also, ocean, lakes, rivers, creeks ANY natural body of water is NEVER a good idea on a fresh piercing because the likely hood that bacteria or other harmful organisms could infect your piercing is VERY high, please be safe!

Question.. I’ve been doing sea salt soaks and making sure I dry it off completely afterwards with a paper towel even the cracks between the jewelry and swelled skin. Is this too invasive? Should I let the piercing/ jewelry air dry instead?? I am scared that leaving even a little bit of salt water around the piercing could cause issues with the healings process.
@readytoill3 жыл бұрын
its always best to let your piercing and tattoo air dry so the towel doesnt irritate it and the towel fibers don’t get into the piercing (~:

I got my belly button pierced 4 days ago, the piercer told me showering was OK, so I took my shower on the third day. It then started to feel itchy and redness occurred, today morning I started to feel a pain and it became more severe. I asked my piercer and she told me to take the ring/bar off, rinse the belly surface with hydrogen peroxide solution, and clean the ring with medical alcohol and then put it back. I did this in in the afternoon, but the pain didn't soothe or go away. It is still swollen and with pus coming out, and still hurts really bad. I thought I got a fever in the afternoon. How can I tell if I'm experiencing infection or metal allergy ?

I was told to spray with antiseptic solution (diluted tea tree oil). I snagged it after some time and a scabby bump developed that keeps oozing. I was then advised to do sea salt water soaks, so i did that for 3 weeks and it didnt help. Soaking just kept making the scab come off. So i stopped and started just spraying with saline solution and its still not getting better. Ive been back to my piercing studio like 8 times now in the 5 months ive had it and they keep telling me different things each time. Theyve recommended i change to different size/types of jewellery twice so they did that. Theyve also told me to use first aid cream for 2 weeks which i did but that also didnt work. Dont know what to do now
@Urbanbodyjewelry25 күн бұрын
youch first aid cream?? well if it's not healing i'm sure you can guess what we might reccomend which would be to take out the piercing :/ if you tried to downsize or change out the jewelry already and keep it clean and that's not working... best bet would be to remove the piercing and allow your body time to heal. So sorry about your frustration though! 🫶

Ive been cleaning it with a q-tip as well and Ill accidentally hit it or move it around. (Which is probably bad for the table salt part? But no ones told me otherwise when doing so) So I'm doing it mostly right, just wrong supplies? It's been a little itchy lately but nothing uncomfortable. It only hurts when I hit it, which is a given. Yeah, that's about it, sorry for the ted talk. You seem like you know what you're talking about-

Im scared now, so can you not change it till its fully healed? Im confused, they told me to go back in 6 to 8 weeks to see if they need to down size. Then how long after that can i start changing it myself? Im only on week 3 of having it done.

you can always go back and see what they would recommend based off your piercings current condition 🫶 hope this helps!

i just got mine done a couple days ago. what’s your exact routine? my piercer said anti bacterial soap only and when i asked about saline/salt soaks she said only if it’s really irritated but my friend pierced told her wound wash so i’ve been doing soap around the area not touching the piercing and wound wash with qtips at the openings (which i will now stop bc you’re not supposed to move it oops )

*I need help.* Basicaly, my shower does NOT work, so i take baths every day. I try my best to keeping my stomach in the bathwater to a minimum, but itll be around 5 minutes. Its causing a very uncomfortable flare up (and till this i was unaware how using peroxide wasnt such a good idea) i just dont know what to do

From what i was told dont put your body in bodys of water in cluding tubs nd pool etc bc its fresh wait for 3/6months depending on your body to be safe for tub. For pool, lakes etc wait until belly is healed. Use sea salt soaks for belly really good to take away the itch only using a shot glass hope this helps

sooo my piecer used one of those anti bottles to change my ring. didn't hurt. I was having an allergic reaction to my previous ring. after the sea salt soaks, what do you do afterwards? should I wash off? or wait till my second soak at night? I now know to avoid q-tips so I got sterile gauze pads to clean off any puss.

My piercer told me definitely not to do salt water soaks but instead a saline eye wash solution what should I do?
@rutrowraggy40446 жыл бұрын
The first few days I cleaned it using the sss method. After 3 or so days I just left it alone and occasionally throw some saline or salt water on it. I dont clean the crust off because I think it's good for it.
