I think to have a good hygiene routine helps any wound heal. I didn't do the salt water. I used saline solution and bactine to an extent in which it wasn't excessive 1ce or 2ce but my area was kept clean. Loose clothing no jeans. Not touching my peircing with dirty hands. No moving or touching my piercing unless it was by my own body movement. No body soaps or any type of cleaning solution that wasn't the wound wash went near my fresh navel peircing for the first 2 weeks ( I did miracles with those showers, shower ninja) no washing my body with anything that might hook onto my piercing and tug on it. It took my body 6-7 months to finally heal my navel. I think every piercer is different every body is different. I went to mine because of his 12 years exp

Necroing this comment because information is important, saline solution is literally salt water. The salt to water ratio is all that determines if it can go in your body or be used to clean wounds.

I got mine pierced last night, so I've had it in a little over 24 hours- No redness, I don't think it's swollen at all. I did what my piercer instructed, and I'm kinda surprised it's not red or swollen at all. I may jinx myself and it'll be red and swollen tomorrow, but so far so good. I watched this video before I went in and just now again afterward. Thank you so much for your informative video. I got my belly button pierced 4 days ago, the piercer told me showering was OK, so I took my shower on the third day. It then started to feel itchy and redness occurred, today morning I started to feel a pain and it became more severe. I asked my piercer and she told me to take the ring/bar off, rinse the belly surface with hydrogen peroxide solution, and clean the ring with medical alcohol and then put it back. I did this in in the afternoon, but the pain didn't soothe or go away. It is still swollen and with pus coming out, and still hurts really bad. I thought I got a fever in the afternoon. How can I tell if I'm experiencing infection or metal allergy ?

Should I let the piercing/ jewelry air dry instead?? I am scared that leaving even a little bit of salt water around the piercing could cause issues with the healings process.

Ive been cleaning it with a q-tip as well and Ill accidentally hit it or move it around. (Which is probably bad for the table salt part? Aaliyah Mcmullen while this is sometimes true, in my experience there are some things that will make it more likely to reject. improper afercare, trauma to the area (getting snagged constantly) and inappropriate jewelry (not titanium or surgical steel) will increase chances of rejection. i had a belly button piercing that rejected after 6 months of healing relatively well because i changed fo jewelry to sterling silver, which i was allergic to
@manupine4 жыл бұрын
@@aubrianna8881 this!! rejection happens a lot with belly button piercings but making sure you take care of it well is going to decrease your chances by a lot, almost everyone i know whose belly button piercing rejected did something they shouldnt have (usually just changing the jewelry too early). belly buttons heal from the outside in so making sure you wait until you've hit that 6 - 12 month mark is important. my piercer told me that if i wanted to change the jewelry i could come in and have her look at it before to make sure its really healed and im pretty sure most piercers will do this if asked.

I’m really nervous to do a salt soak with the shot glass because o don’t wanna submerge the piercing. I feel like it could mess something up. I’ve just been making a mixture of my sea salt and water in a shot glass and using q-tips to clean around it and dry it off. Is this okay? I got it pierced 5 days ago and it doesn’t hurt at all anymore and it’s just slightly pink. No swelling and no heat but it is slightly itchy sometimes.
@taylorreed5645 жыл бұрын
it is good to submerge it with the sea salt water because it lets it completely clean the piercing. but do not submerge it with any other water like taking a bath because the germs in the water can cause infection.

Submerging for 10 mins helps the water and salt reeeally get in there and do its job. Your method is just getting the outer skin and not the inner.

for the public bodies of water, is it just for the healing process or can you not go in them ever??

*I need help.* Basicaly, my shower does NOT work, so i take baths every day. I try my best to keeping my stomach in the bathwater to a minimum, but itll be around 5 minutes. Its causing a very uncomfortable flare up (and till this i was unaware how using peroxide wasnt such a good idea) i just dont know what to do

From what i was told dont put your body in bodys of water in cluding tubs nd pool etc bc its fresh wait for 3/6months depending on your body to be safe for tub. For pool, lakes etc wait until belly is healed. Use sea salt soaks for belly really good to take away the itch only using a shot glass hope this helps

I think he pierced mine to deep. Like I have to sometimes put a band aid in between my ball and skin because after one day I almost loose the entire ball to a hole around the actual hole? It’s not gross looking or red in a large area just where the holes are on the top ball. Any suggestions?

So if plastic contaminates the solution, why do we put the salt in the jug of distilled water instead of in the glass?
@tynext3 жыл бұрын
the bottle is sterile on the inside🤍 i’m assuming. bc distilled water is VERY clean. we can’t even drink it that’s how pure it is.

i was told by my piecer to not use a saline solution and to just give it a bit of the wash in the shower without using any soap and its healed so well. i think its healed better by just washing it it the shower than using a saline solution

Same thing on what I do in mine. I guess normal wash would be better than putting anything on it.

Mine started to get a bump so I took it out. The bump is going down but I’m gonna try again maybe.

sooo my piecer used one of those anti bottles to change my ring. didn't hurt. I was having an allergic reaction to my previous ring. after the sea salt soaks, what do you do afterwards? should I wash off? or wait till my second soak at night? I now know to avoid q-tips so I got sterile gauze pads to clean off any puss.

I got my navel piercing like a year and a half ago and I keep getting like pale puss and redness coming out of the skin in the middle. Not out from the piercing holes but the actual skin in the middle, is it infected? How can I treat it?
