I guess the narrator gets quite as well the watcher when seeing fish spawn in a tank. It amazes me every time when my fish are spawning. It's rewarding as well.

hey man, great vid. subscribed! have a pair, moved them into a tank i'd set up for them but no action so far, their tubes have gone back up and they are sulking big time lol! would you suggest giving them more time or to put them bqck into the big tank until they are ready?
@PatrickDNeary4 жыл бұрын
Give them time and make sure water quality is good. They should breed again soon.

Should I transfer out from a jar when my angel fish free swimmers are 6 - 10 days old? I have lost thousands, from 13 batches my philippians have hatched twice a month since April thus year. I would like to talk to you personally.

How long do you keep the wigglers in the methylene blue?

Until they're off the slate earliest, latest when they're free swimming.

Hey mate, subscribed. How many water changes and what % should I be doing with fry?
@PatrickDNeary2 жыл бұрын
If I didn't have the set-up I did I would do a water change after every feeding. I'd siphon the water with an airline into a white bucket so that when fry get sucked up as I'm targeting waste, which will invariably happen, it's easy to spot them in the white bucket and put them back. Then refill with water from an established tank.
@Charles-bd5qi2 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickDNeary Thanks Patrick for such a quick reply mate. So it is more important to remove un-eaten food, rather than replenishing old tank water with fresh tap water? So in other words don’t require big water changes, just small ones often, targeting the waste and leftover food? Would snails and small shrimp and maybe a Cory help in cleaning up this excess food, or could that be dangerous for fry? Thanks
@PatrickDNeary2 жыл бұрын
@@Charles-bd5qi Bigger changes from the established tank is fine, as are snails and cherry shrimp. I'd avoid corys at this stage. The idea with siphoning the waste right after feeding is to get it out before it has a chance to spoil the water. The plus is you're also doing a water change.
@Charles-bd5qi2 жыл бұрын
@@PatrickDNeary Thanks so much mate, you have answered my questions concisely. My first batch of fry started swimming and then unfortunately declined in health and died on the bottom of the tank. I think this may have been due to not siphoning out excess food waste as I thought the snails could get to it and was worried id injure the small fry in the process, or potentially due to setting up the tank with tap water and not cycled tank water, however my two sponge filters in breeder tank were fully cycled. Tap water where I live is in the high 20s Celsius and is very soft with low ph so I thought that would be good for them with no ammonia or nitrates. I’ll definitely try using tank water from my 4ft this time

I have a female angel fish that keep on laying eggs can i just hatch them useing Methylene Blue or do I need the Male to fertilize the egg for them to hatch?

@PatrickDNeary3 ай бұрын
I have a light on the brine shrimp hatchery which provides enough light at night in the room for them to tend the eggs while still having a light cycle.

Can I breed angle fish in 5gallons....? New subscriber ♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️
@PatrickDNeary2 жыл бұрын
Depends on the angles of the tank. Angelfish I suppose could be bred in a 5 gallon as well with large daily water changes. I wouldn't recommend it however.

I have hundreds of baby angels... can you leave them with the parents?
@PatrickDNeary23 күн бұрын
To a point. Eventually the parents will lay again. At this point some parents eat any fry that come near the eggs while others will raise brood after brood and not predate any of them.
