@pnwbettas I used to raise bettas when I was 13-16 years old and sell them to my local aquarium store. I would have hundreds and hundreds of glass jars in my bedroom to separate them when they got to the fighting stage. I remember that I only got about 10-20 cents a piece for each one, but none the less I made a lot of spending money as a kid. It was a lot of fun so I’ve been seriously tempted to start again. You have fantastic fish and a nice clean setup. I only wish that you would release more videos for us, your viewers. Thanks a million for sharing your content with us!

The bubble wrap idea is awesome. I will try that as it seems that protects the bubbles from breaking when they are left on the free surface alone with no support. Thanks for sharing your passion with bettas. I’ve had the opportunity to see wild bettas in Thailand. They are pretty small but very intense colors.

Bhaiya, what are your plans for so many betta fishes in the future? [07:05] I’m also thinking about starting fish breeding, but I’m concerned about what I’ll do with more than 50+ betta fishes down the line. Would really appreciate your advice and guidance on this!

I own a betta specialty online and retail shop. I don't do much breeding anymore, but when I did I would just sell them online. This is not what I recommend for most breeders, it took me years to grow my website, and I had a large social media following before I even started it. And now I it's my full time job, and I have a local fish store. Check with local fish stores, local aquarium societies (some do auctions for hobby bred fish), or local facebook groups for selling/rehoming. Generally locally is the best way to go 👍

@GeorgeOfThisJungle4 ай бұрын
@@XebecXv well here are some tips to get started get atleast 5 gallon (if you can't afford a 10 gallon) if you wish to just have the betta in the tank if you are planning to get him mates then atleast 10 gallon, next you need to make sure there good amount of hiding space, but no sharp decor or one with small holes coz they are curious being an will end up getting stuck, if you can have planted tank then try plants from the top it helps with ammonia levels and also always have almond/catappa leaves around. You can switch between different kinds of foods to keep things interesting for your fella or fifi (😂idk what a female version of fella is) If you need any more tips let me know. I have spider plant, peace lily and lucky bamboo along with some pothos from top of my tank coz I wasn't successful with underwater plants

I have a question i have a bunch of frozen brine shrimp but i have none of the vinegar stuff u have is it okay if i feed them that instead?
@YamASMR Жыл бұрын
Awesome video! I have a couple of questions. When your male is in the tank for the first 3 days, do you keep a light on 24/7 so he can pick up the fry all the time? My other question is when you start feeding the vinegar eels or infusoria, what is your feeding schedule? Does this change when you switch over to BBS? Oh and 1 more question, did you have to use multiple disc BBS hatcheries to have a continuous supply of BBS? I have one and it works awesome but wondering if 1 is enough. Thanks so much!
@pnwbettas Жыл бұрын
I can definitely answer this for you! I do not leave the light on for the male. I do the same light/dark cycle as my other tanks. I’ve has no issue getting hundreds of fry still. I try and feed 3-4 times a day. Normally I get 3 times at this age. I just look at their stomachs and feed once their no longer full. Pretty much stays the same form the beginning. Once they get older I will feed even more often to get some faster growth. I’m able to store some baby brine in the fridge for the 12hr it takes me to hatch new brine shrimp. In the past i have also run 2 hatcheries and offset them to always have fresh hatched bbs.

Not if you want to breed no. You will end up starving a good portion of the spawn and not get good survival rates
@TheShuryansh2 ай бұрын
You can , know that in the Thai rice field nobody gives them bbs, they still grow.. you can create a plankton tank and feed your frya planktons.. I have kept all my babies in plankton tanks, they eat small plankton and grow.. 😊

I only have access to bloodworms so what should i do with frys?
@pnwbettas8 ай бұрын
Not breed honestly. Bloodworms won’t be sufficient food for bettas this small, they won’t be able to eat them. I also wouldn’t suggest feeding one food like that from this small of an age. Having live cultures like vinegar eels and hatching out baby brine shrimp are pretty essential in my opinion. They need live food small enough for them to eat.

why is the water brown
@nondescriptpersonality8305 Жыл бұрын
tannins. search up "blackwater aquariums." basically, there are some plants/organic materials (stuff like leaves and wood) you can put in water that will release lots of tannins, which turns the water dark. it looks dirty, but it actually has health benefits for the fish, like preventing fungal diseases. i don't think you can use just any organic material to create the effect though; a common example is indian almond leaves
@T_y_302 Жыл бұрын
Most likely it’s Indian almond leaves there great for betta fish or tannings

One possibility is that you are feeding too much and they aren’t all getting eaten. You want to make sure you remove any uneaten dead ones off the bottom of the fry tank.

Tannines lowering the PH. Must use botanicals for these fish to reproduce!
@lukeb67715 ай бұрын
Dried leaves and driftwood leech a brown substance into the water known as tannins. Tannins provide nutrients for beneficial microorganisms, bacteria, and plants. It also has antibacterial and antifungal properties. It also softens water and lower its ph, which is ideal for certain plants and fish (like betta). An aquarium intentionally kept with a high amount of tannins is known as a “blackwater” aquarium. It’s often used by very serious aquarists who are replicating nature in a box. For example, some cichlids live in the blackwaters of the Amazon River, so some people will reproduce that exact kind of environment for their fish. It’s a very tedious process. Some people think it’s beautiful, and other people think it makes the tank look dirty. All depends on what you think an aquarium should look like/how it should serve the fish. Tannins are quite literally tea! When you steep a tea bag, you are leeching the tannins out of it. ☕️🫖
