I don't heat my shrimp tanks. I thought 78 to 82 was a little too high. Do you do this for breeding?
@aaronosb77872 жыл бұрын
The eggs need warm water and it's like spring mating season yr round i keep my tank at 78 and they are breeding like rabbits

You'll have a lot more berried shrimp if you get rid of those heaters. They like cool water.

Neocaradina Shrimp can survive into the 30s you really don't have to heat the tank .

The heaters were unnecessary as is a buffering substrate for neo caradinia. Some people keep their NCD shrimp in out door ponds that freeze over and they still thrive. Glad to see them blue dreams survived they were not looking happy in the first vid.

Anyone got any advice for me... I am looking to get started with some large fresh water shrimp? Would love them to be few inches or so, bigger the better... Will be in 20 gal tank, in time will be moved to a pool for a fish pond... Am open to crayfish or prons... Needs to be some kind of scavenger tho I will be actively feeding them fish food......I am in Texas USA... Am wanting to find the kind of shrimp first then will add fish that will work with them..... Must be fresh water tho...

Amanos get pretty big compared to neos but there are some dwarf lobsters you can get that are really cool that would be bigger than shrimp but smaller than crayfish
