Awesome video! Do you have occured some seed shrimp/ostracods? I do have them problematic in a few of my shrimp only breedertanks. They tend to eat even my mosses...

Hmmm, you sure they're not scuds. Never seen are heard of seed shrimp and ostracods being a problem or eating plants. I also see them as signs of a healthy ecosystem. Thank you 😊

Well this is a special project of me lining out my own traits in this video. Usually colored legs of pure colored lines is the best.

I saw you noticed that this video didn't get as many views as you were expecting and you wondered if it was too niche for the algorithm. That might be the case but I think actually it might be both too niche and not niche enough. What I mean is that the first part of the video about shrimp line genetics is sort of beginner-ish whereas the top secret breeding project is quite niche and more for advanced people. I reckon you might wanna seperate this type of video into sections that focus more on a single topic. I know when I was really searching for information on specific shrimp breeding projects like this, I was way past the basic line genetics stuff, and i might have been put off by the first part of the vid. Just thought I'd comment because I spend a lot of time watching shrimp content on KZbin, and i feel like this input might be helpful. Also another tip, usually when I'm searching KZbin for this stuff its super focused on quickly finding the information. I think these longer videos where you do tank cleaning and talk about the tanks are great, but I reckon you'd maybe get a whole different type of audience if you make short videos (like 5 minutes or less even) of single topics. That way you can basically just repeat your content/tips in a different style/pace of video and probably net yourself some decent views. Most people aren't super patient haha. Youre one of my favourites mate, keep up the good work.

Lol yeah I think you're right. My channel is and most my audience and the stuff I get the best feedback on is usually stuff for beginners. Trying to explain what I am doing to beginners, while still making content thats not played out for the seasoned shrimp keepers, and sharing my more advanced projects. Definitely wish I had just done the top secret part for vid though, beginners would just be like wtf is this guy even talking about lol.

@@MarkShellyAquatics yeah the beginner stuff is mass appeal for sure. Honestly I think its fine to have this long video and then also just do this same content again in smaller videos, I reckon you don't need to worry about repeating content on KZbin because usually nobody watches every single video on a channel anyway.

@theGamingtrees that and there are only so many topics you can cover and put so many spins on it lol. While I get the same qustions all the time, always new people finding me and watching. Cranking out videos constantly is a grind for sure, took a few weeks easy, and then was sick for a month, just now getting fully back into the swing of things last week and this week.

I'm still learning for sure. Folks in asia have been doing this for 30+ years, and I didn't know what a cherry shrimp was until 7 or 8 years ago, lol. Quickly became addicted lol. The more shrimp you see, the more you get a feel for how it works, I guess you could say. I've seen a lot of shrimp for 5 or 6 years now, didnt know what I was doing at first, but I just knew to get really good shrimp and had been doing planted tanks for years. Neos love my water and the way I did my tanks and instant success as far as making more, and since I got the best shrimp I could I made lots of real good ones from the get go out of pure luck and knowing planted tanks lol. I'm still always figuring it out and sharing what I think I have a pretty good idea of, or sometimes you just gotta experiment if no one is sharing the secrets, lol.

How do you keep the substrate clean in your tanks? I used to go really slow with a small siphon but I'm sure you'll suck up some babies here and there so I stopped
@MarkShellyAquatics
@MarkShellyAquatics Жыл бұрын
I really dont. My bigger tanks have powerful filters that make enough current to stir up the stuff that settles. My smaller tanks I take the shrimp out and reset every 6 months to a year or so and clean up all the muck then.
