i have raised a few batches of the red severum and the game changer for me was using micro worms for feeding as the last batch we managed to keep 108 alive and well .

Beautiful set up I used to breed african cichlids. They are the all time best fish they all have Different but awesome perpenalties. I'll be heading to South carolina in a couple months to drop my friend off she's moving there.

I just started having a Blood Parrot Cichlid and an Electric Blue Texas Cichlid breed I have terracotta pots in the tank When they lay eggs i take the pot out and replace it with another one The other fish in the tank don’t notice the eggs since I’ve placed it in the corner of the tank They just lay eggs in the same place The like to lay eggs on clean flat surfaces Not sure if putting the air stone under them is needed, its worked for me just to leave the sponge filter running

I just use the Hikari fish pellets as a staple and occasionally fresh shrimp

Is there any way you could tell me what temp you use and if you use anything for fungus? I have been trying to hatch my severum eggs but I always have such a hard time with fungus. I definitely took notes on the airstone right next to the rock. Brilliant! Any other advice?

Thats really cool. I have a female green sevrum and she by herself but has been laying eggs on my back glass so want to get her a male but don't know how to sex them? I thought I had a male cause of the long fins that are pointy but i was wrong. Any help would be awesome. Thanks for sharing 💯💗👍✌️

only 4 of them have survived bc i put too many babies back into my tank and my oscar ate them all lol but all of them were green

Can I ask you what size is your tank id like to get some Vieja and Severums in a tank

Its a 125 gallon. The vieja get somewhat large so a 75 might be too small

you are probably better off trying to sell them on craigslist or facebook marketplace. Shipping probably wont be worth the cost

Nice video I follow your lead 😊 I have green terrors two females n one male so in top aquarium male spawn with female inside decoration and next day I put male at bottom with other female and they spawn on a slate so I took out decoration put it in a 40 gallon breeder and the following day I lay slate on top decoration in same 40 breeder aquarium when u get a chance check out video
