Breeding Taiwan bee and Pinto Shrimp with Crystal shrimp - Mischling method

This video is about crossbreeding Taiwan bee and pinto Caridina shrimp with crystal black shrimp in order to make mischling shrimp. This shrimp then crosses back with Taiwan or Pinto shrimp to boost your colony population and genetics at the same time. I will show you my shrimp tank where I am doing this crossbreeding project. I'm going to share tricks and tips on how to make your colony breeding fast. I will breathily talk about shrimp genetics. At the end of the video I'm going to catch all mischling shrimp from the tank and move them to a different aquarium. If you never crossbreed your Caridina shrimp I would recommend you to give it a try, it's fun and rewarding at the same time.

Nice video and discussion. I remember when I first got into caridina, 2 years ago, i read on a forum this way of breeding. Thought it was interesting but never really see too many people practicing it or at least talking about it outside of that discussion, might not be looking in the right places lol. But i've really been thinking about trying it. My CRS breed well but my pintos don't breed anywhere near as much. Should be fun, looking forward to your next video. Have a good one...

Definitely worth to try it Martin. Just put couple of yours females CRS into your pinto tank and then wait for babies to grow. Males are pretty much useless but your mischling females will reward you very well at the end. Will share my update in few weeks. Thanks for interesting in this project, appreciate it😊

Wow amazing. I introduce a male Fancy Tiger to my German Pinto colony. I was hoping the babies will be Nanashi pattern, but nope. I'll cross the f1 back to pinto when they grow, maybe it'll work

I think fancy tiger is a simple caridina and doesn’t heave Taiwan/pimto gene so that’s why f1 will be hybrids. I hope you’ll get a good result crossing the hybrids back with pintos

Glad you’re enjoying my videos. When you cross f1 female back with pinto you should get around 50% of pinto babies

I would remove all male mischlings from the breeding group because when female mischlings cross with pintos they have a better chance to make you a pintos, so you going to have more pintos at the end

@@ShrimpMania hmmm ok, i just visit my caridina pure line red bee aquarium and the phone water is 6.5 to 7 no caridina shrimp berried yet. Maybe I need to add more aqua soil? To lower ph

@@Cleeon PRL shrimp should be ok in 6.5 pH but 7 a bit high for them. You can add some aquasoil to lower pH but cycle your soil fist. Leave it in the bucket or empty tank for 2-3 week. New soil can leach some ammonia.
