Breeding Techniques - Part 1 Hybridization (Crossing Techniques) | SGF Project

The Seeding the Green Future (SGF) project www.sgf-cotton.org focuses on participatory breeding for non-GM seeds suitable for organic cotton production. A series of 11 (eleven) process-explainer videos are developed under this project highlighting different aspects of cotton cultivation under organic conditions.
In this video, you will learn about different breeding techniques ranging from simply selecting plants with desirable characteristics to methods such as emasculation, pollination involving the crossing of closely or distantly related individuals to produce new crop varieties (hybridization), maintenance of the parental lines and seed multiplication.

Kindly explain the all over stigma size. As most of working labor are difficult to explain. They consider only the tip is stigma and pollen are sheds on the side where the flower was handed. On opposite sides pollen less approach to stigma receptors and less seeds formation into the locules on opposite side.
