Yup, the patron is beta testing the chicken n pigs update before they fully release it, from what I’ve heard after they finish the chicken n pigs update they will work on the foxes

1:56 aww that guys got rumpless (tailless) trait! And just so you know all these chickens funky traits are on real breeds! I really hope this mod is eventually open to the public. I love all the variations and breeding different types of animals would be so fun! I love researching traits of domestic animals already. I wonder if I could even get something like some of my favorite chicken breeds

what ive understand from the current release thats out to all if the hen drops the egg with an xp point that means its fertilized and without an xp obvi not fertilized. Ive been doing my hand at breeding my chickens in my single player world!!!

hope you don't mind a 2-week late ping, but to add to this: preening is something pretty much all birds do! they have a gland they swipe their beaks on as they preen, & it helps keep their feathers in line, which is important for flight feathers in particular.

Now...this is just conjecture, but...I noticed you kept re-breeding the pair with the black rooster...maybe there's a hidden cooldown timer, and by re-breeding them, you were constantly resetting the cooldown? So the hen kept adding eggs instead of sitting on the ones she already had? That's my best guess anyway. And maybe there's a rarity mechanic that makes the cooldown longer for rarer parents...assuming the black rooster was a super-rare or something... My guess is that the eggs that were laid as items outside the nest were infertile, and the ones laid in the nest were fertile? Although that doesn't explain why you could add the "infertile" ones to the nest.
