The announcements of page numbers and prayers are invaluable for me. I read Hebrew, and continue to learn more and more each day, but Baruch Hashem, those announcements help me know that I am included ❤

Thanks for this video. I'm still learning a lot. My dad is jewish but raised our family catholic. I want to reconnect with my jewish side and formally convert, but I'm often too shy to go to synagogue or talk to other Jewish people because I feel illegitimate. Though my jewishness is something I claim, and hold very dear to me.

I have a question and I would greatly appreciate all whom reply back to me , but 1st I want to give Thanks for this video, I knew it’s important to have a Siddur even though I don’t know anything about what it is about and I don’t know the Hebrew language yet. This video is the 1st that makes it more clear to me about what the Siddur is about. I don’t know anyone Jewish. I’ve never been around The Jewish ways. In 2015, I completely dropped out of my family’s Christian religion forever. I wish and pray that my family, friends and everyone in the World knew and obeyed THE WHOLE HOLY WORD. The Jewish ways are THE CREATOR, RULER of the Universe, THE FATHER YHVH YAH’s ways, HIS religion. I watch the Shabbat services on Utube, I understand so clearly why THE FATHER YAH loves and is very pleased with the worship of The Jewish religion, and why HE is very displeased at all other religions. There is HIS SON and there is HE, there is no Trinity! My question: Do Jews include pets in their home daily prayers? I am asking this question and getting answers from people is Important to me because all of CREATOR YAH’s creation is alive and all is commanded to worship HIM. Thank You for your time reading my comment.

Deborah, glad to hear of your interest. Generally, especially among Orthodox Jews pets would not be included. However, when you address the Creator in prayer you are free to address the welfare of your pets. One Hasidic rabbi - Rabbi Nachman of Breslov encouraged an informal form of prayer called Hitbodedut - a conversation with God. In this you pick a time and place and just say whatever is on your mind in your own language - separate from the formal prayers in the Siddur. I encourage your explorations into Judaism and wish you well on your journey. Shalom.

Hi!! What was that prayerbook that had Hebrew on one aside and the transliteration on the other? Looked like a Chabad Siddur (tehillat hashem) but I couldn’t quite see it . The regular TH has Hebrew and English so I’m VERY interested in the transliterated one! Thanks!!

I just bought the Large siddur Jewish Daily Prayer Book Hebrew/English translation. Is that good for Torah reading?
@breishis4 жыл бұрын
Who is the publisher? As a general rule, a siddur is meant for daily prayer, not Torah readings. A siddur can contain readings from the Torah but it is primarily a prayer book. For Torah readings, you should get a Chimash (for synagogue use) or a Tanakh (complete Hebrew scriptures) [see my videos for each of these books]. Depending on the publisher, a good Chumash/Tanakh can be excellent for Torah reading.

Dear Daniel thank you sooo much for your videos. Can a non Jew learn Torah and pray using a Siddur? If yes any advices how to use it? I have the complete Artscroll Siddur
@breishis4 жыл бұрын
The short answer is yes, a non-Jew can read the Torah. In fact, the vast majority of the people in the world who read the bible are non-Jews. It is probably the most popular book worldwide. I suggest that you go through the siddur and see what prayers are meaningful to you. You might want to start off with a psalm or two that is relevant to you and to what you are going through in your life. Never underestimate the power if hisbodedus... talking to the Creator as if He was a close, trusted personal friend. In fact, that kind of prayer directly from the heart is probably more meaningful that reciting a prayer from the siddur. May HaShem continue to bless, protect and draw you close to Him.

About a month ago, my best friend's father passed away, and I helped my friend clean out his father's room. During the cleaning, I found a Siddur that was given to the father on his Bar Mitzvah in 1967. Since I've been learning Hebrew for the last couple of months, my friend decided to give the Siddur to me. I've been using the Hebrew pages on this Siddur every day to get used to reading the Hebrew, and I think I've made a lot of progress. But, what I was hoping this video would help me understand, is whether or not the whole תפלת שחרית is prayed daily. I see that this part of the book is over 80 pages long. I'm on page 60 tonight, and it's been a month. Do people really pray through the whole thing in one day? That's something I'm very curious to know.
@breishis3 жыл бұрын
Depending on the synagogue, they will go through all/most if it. Some will recite most or all of it. Some will recite a lot of it silently. Since you are beginning, you might want to concentrate on a few main prayers at first, then add more as you feel comfortable and confident. I suggest: the morning blessings (14 shortblessingsin a row), Ashrei, the Shema (3 paragraphs), the Amidah (18 silent blessings), and Aleinu. If you can't do them all, do as much as you can. Good luck, mazel tov and yasher koach.
