Thanks! I'm glad you like them. Making videos is something I just recently started doing. It's a nice change of pace from what I regularly do. And I like doing it as a creative outlet. As long there's a single person out there that's going to find them interesting I'll keep making them. Thanks again for being here!

you‘re incredibly underrated, ur apollo 8 video is the best review of that watch on youtube. Will we ever see a seamaster 300m or moonwatch?
@TimeEquation4 жыл бұрын
Thank you so much! That is very kind. The rest of the collection, at the moment, is combination of Rolex and Breitling. I haven't had the opportunity to expand my Omega collection just yet. But, there's a few models I really like. I have my eye on a few SpeedMaster models. As for the SeaMaster, I haven't found the one for me just yet. The new line looks great, but I'm yet to see it in person.

That’s the Navitimer B01. I’ve featured that watch previously on the channel. You can find the review for it here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/j6bckH5vYrCeqrc

@@TimeEquation thank you for your quick answer! If you have to choose between the B01 and the 806 re edition, for which one will you go?
@TimeEquation3 жыл бұрын
If you are buying your first Navitimer, B01 is a better everyday watch. You've got sapphire on both ends. The movement, even though machine finished, is very nice to look at. The bezel is easier to grip, and you smudge the crystal less when using it. The strap is better, breaks in way easier. Or you could go for the bracelet which is very comfortable. The clasp on that bracelet isn't great, but it does the job. And there's a date function, which is very handy day to day. My Navitimer B01 has sentimental value for me personally. But regardless, I think that the B01 is objectively a better watch. 806 is awesome, don't get me wrong. I just would not recommend it as your first Navitimer.

why there is no date display?

This model doesn’t have a date complication. Neither did the original version from 1959.

I've watched about 7 reviews of this watch now... think you might've "sold" it to me! LOL Never owned a Breitling, but always admired the Iconic Navitimer. This seems to be the perfect one for me, without going Vintage.

Navitimer is a great watch. Even a brilliant one at times. And while I do love this watch, I don't recommend it as a first Navitimer purchase. If you have other watches in your collection then fine, go for it. Otherwise, for me personally, an automatic version with a date is a better option for everyday use. I have 3 of them so a lack of a date, manual wind, and a plexiglass crystal doesn't really bother me. But the hearth wants what the hearth wants. Enjoy it!

@@TimeEquation Very sound advice sir, thanks. However I am deep in the rabbit hole of Watch Collecting now, owning more watches than I would if I were more reasonable or still married LOL As far as Chronographs go, I currently have 5 (4 automatics including 2 with date functions). The idea for me is to add my first and last Breitling. The main requirements I had, were that it had to be a Navitimer with a "Beaded Bezel", and not too large (41mm ideally). I almost pulled the trigger on a Cosmonaute 809 in the past, but have always had a preference for the "syringe" hands on some of the 806s. The good condition Vintage ones (806) from reputable dealers are scarce, and fairly more money than I would like to spend on this particular purchase... So I guess the Re-Edition makes the most sense for me.

You seem to have your mind set. If you are looking for just one definitive Breitling look no further. This re-edition has been executed perfectly. It looks and feels like a vintage chronograph. I'm sure you'll love it!

Why buy this over an original?
@TimeEquation4 жыл бұрын
That's a great question. The best condition originals are about 60 years old now. Regardless of how well the watch was threated over the years, or how often it was serviced, those are still very old watches. They are more delicate to operate, and their timekeeping capabilities are likely going to be way above COSC. In terms of the parts, most are going to have major components changed during the service. Dials and hands could also be degraded so much they had to be replaced. I was offered one such piece myself. Late 50s 806. Fresh out of Breitling service. Which took 2 years to complete as parts had to be manufactured specially for that piece. And while it did look great after it was refurbished it didn't feel like a vintage piece. New hands didn't go that well with the patina on the numerals. I've looked at better examples of vintage pieces online, and the prices are close to the re-edition. Combining that with the new manufacturing methods, prospect of long time serviceability, and a 5 year warranty - I'd go with the re-edition over the original.
