The bugeye wrx just got all new drilled and slotted rotors, ceramic carbon pads, oem, caliper replacements and braided lines. Unfortunately the passenger caliper brakes bolt was the last one we needed to complete it, tried fire, force, and removers just wouldn’t come out now it’s at a muffler man getting the bolt out it was a 14 now a 12 rounded off as well rusted too

I mean it wasn’t nothing special, 5 speed manual 2005 Scion tC with aftermarket headers and exhaust, coil overs, aftermarket taillights, cold air intake, on black 17x8 enkei edr9s but it had like 190K miles and burned oil like crazy. I actually sold it for like 3300 which was more than I put into the car, but it was my first project car so I kind of have this whole in my heart even though it was clapped out.

Haven’t really decided yet, I’m between getting another manual, something RWD or AWD this time or getting a truck. I live in Wisconsin and we sure do love our pickup trucks, a truck would probably be my best bet because my friends have four wheelers and my daily driver is the biggest car with the highest torque output in our group so I’m the one that ends up pulling them, but I drive an Avalon and it does some Carolina squat shit when I do that so that’s probably not good.

All you have to do for the bolts is take them to the wire wheel on a bench grinder. I wouldn't try and powder coat the bolt heads. Because you have to put wrenches on them. So it would wreck it anyways from the wrench or socket.

I ended up just going over the bolts with black touch up paint 😅 actually worked pretty well 😅🔥

Sometimes you have to use the scan tool to activate the ABS to be able to bleed the ABS. At least on BMW anyway.

Just got a set of STI Brembos in for my Baja. Did a search for rebuilds and knew you'd have the info I needed. I'll be doing Cerakote ceramic instead of powder. Maybe I missed it, but is there a gasket or o-rings between the case halves?

You can get a fitting for the hose on your power bleeder that goes into the bleeder port on the caliper and revers bleed them with and overflow/ resivoir on the master cylinder it is SO much easier and faster

Just don’t know what to do to get the calipers apart without breaking them cause I already started to mushroom the head of the pins so they probably won’t pass through the hole anymore

Head gaskets were never a real big issue on the turbo models, only primarily on the N/A cars. Thr FA20s are great engines, main issues are cam carriers and rods if you push power

hello , try this method for bleeding the brembos: reverse bleeding ! empty the brake fluid reservoir, and use a syringe fill it with brake fluid and push bleed them from the brembo nipples to the brake fluid reservoir , be carefull to EMPTY the reservoir for each wheel and in that way u can do it alone and u do not need help to bleed them , i work in Rally preparation , when u have 20 min max to change whatever the car needs u will have to improvise . try it on any car even for the clutch master and slave ! u will have a good pedal INSTANTLY !

If I don't like what I see I was looking at potentially getting a dodge challenger r/t or a Ford mustang gt. If you had to choose what would you go with? I have family that works for Ford and Chrysler so I get a good discount so that's where I'm looking.

Ran into my first hiccup with my 2019 wrx. AC won't blow cold air. It also makes noise that is coming from under the hood when I turn thr AC on but stops as soon as I turn it off. How did you find the torque value to put the halves back together. It seems that this is a classified, TOP SECRET , info from Brembo, everyone said due to liability issues, my ass. I wound up just torquing them to 70 ft lbs front , 43 rear. What values did you come up with plsr?

Fast WRX estimates around 45 ft lbs but brembo won't release the actually spec, tbh I set my Milwaukee on setting 2 and just sent them lol roughly 50ish ft lbs

Ohhh all bad. Yeah you will probably be bleeding those brakes for more hours... when you install a new master cylinder you bench bleed it first. Which JUST that part takes over 40 pumps or something before you even bring it to the car lol.

Those Brembos do be looking nice in silver. I just put new cross drilled/slotteds w/ carbon ceramic pads on the G this weekend, since my last set was completely spanked after about 4 years. I originally wanted to get the late model Akebono upgrade for it (Brembo was removed after 04 due to excessive wear complaints), but they're like $2.5k and I've had some employment issues lately. That and the non-Brembos stop just as well.

@@Smeedia Yeah from all of the sets I've gotten in the past 5 years, a slotted or drilled/slotted set is just about if not the same price as blanks. I previously had slotted rotors but the ones I went with this time only offered d/s. No complaints.
