hey i have a question about this. Do you think a barometric sensor off of a FA engine would work in a EJ? I'm not sure how different they're going to be mechanically wise but im worried they'll have different scales. LMK thanks!

I always use copper anti seize between the bell housing and engine when I pull an engine for next time.

Have to agree on the fuel thing...on 100octane I can only get 26psi of boost max. Around 550whp.. on 122 octane I can run north of 45psi at 900whp. It makes all the difference...

The ball joint comment im salty hahaha I've broken knuckles removing that bolt for the ball joint.

Please for the love of God stop calling it a 22b. It has neither a 2.2L or Bilstein suspension. It's also not a p25 or anything else, it is YOUR build. For someone as savvy as you are with Subarus, one would think you would recognize what it is and what it isn't. Why not just call it what it is, the GM6 dream build?

When I paid $110 for the alloy hood from an RA, I had no idea I'd spend around $2000 to get it to fit properly, and stripped, hand straightened, and repainted. From memory it takes 12kg out of the front of the car. My WRX-based Tommy kaira M20b is almost back after a 10-month restoration, and I can hardly wait to get back in her. With the interior out completely, my guy has deadened every panel on the car, and it will have no rattles! :)

Why not use gr subframe? Used one from a 09 wrx to fit the 15+ sti rack in my 2000 forester. Bolts up no issues...

I like the black cladding. It breaks up the look of the solid color. Mono color is ok if that's what you're looking for. I think it's also good for where i live in the northern east coast. The fenders get a lot of chips of winter rock salt and grit up down by the towns on the streets.

Hey bro I feel like you need to get a 3D printer to help with all the custom fab, brackets and such. For example, you can print flexible material for bushings or spacers to mount the oil cooler or to mount lines to it. They also have engineered materials like glass fiber ABS, carbon fiber abs/asa or pc for parts that bear loads and/or exposed to heat. You can get some super sweet custom solutions to some of your projects. If you need anything like this designed or printed and don’t want to invest in a printer or learning CAD you can hit me up. I’m an engineer working in part design for heavy duty equipment (construction, agriculture, caterpillar etc) and can help out with some custom solutions if needed. Looking great so far and love the video, as always.

I laughed at the level clip. Reminded me of working on a tool and getting in a debate over what is level. I’d say. You are level in relationship with the ground but not level in relationship with the engine bay. The car was probably not “level” on the lift. Good ol’ relativity

For a stock 17 STi with just a catback, are there other mods required for lets say a stage 1 tune?

You were having problems with that shifter rubbing. Did you ever check to make sure the front half that U-joint that's pinned to the transmission is not upside down? It's offset and should be installed with the offset down. It will rub on a GD if not installed correctly.

Also, in the effects tab in premiere search for "automatic click remover" should help with pops in between audio cut points. You can also add a 1-2 frame dissolves. For speed you can set your default audio transition default duration to 1-2 frames and set up a keyboard shortcut for "apply default transitions to selection" I know you're pressed for time and it's more about the content, but little bit of audio clean up will add that extra polish 🤌🤌🤌

I've used compressed air cans flipped upside down to freeze the sound deadening and WD40 dry lube spray to help wipe off residue.

Dry Ice is a great way to remove sound deadening. Leaves behind NO sticky goo.

something i learned this year: totaled my car a year ago in a hydroplaning accident. parents gave me their old one. took it for an oil change at one of those quick 5 min oil stop places because it was convenient and i was over the miles on the service. take5 to be exact. anyways, i learned not to take it to one of those places because they put the wrong size oil filter on, causing all the brand new oil to spill out the sides and starve my engine of oil. had no idea what was happening until the engine seized and i was stuck in the middle of a busy highway the day before mothersday and 400 miles away from my mom. gents, do your own oil changes.
