Love the Decca comment about the Beatles. Brenda heard the Beatles when she toured England, and she was the one who brought the idea of the signing the Beatles to Decca. She was disappointed Decca would not sign them.

Her version of "Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree" is still the definitive one for me. Little Miss Dynamite, only a middle teen when "Sorry" debuted.

The American DECCA records was different from the British DECCA records. They were the same company originally, but split before World War II, and more recently have been brought back together under the Universal Music Group. There was no connection between them at the time of this recording.

In my opinion her later songs in the sixties where better and more modern but hey, the british invasion was devastating!

Eh, there was something pure about this era. Before the British invasion, and then eventually the psychedelic and politically loaded music of the late 60s.

Yeah, Miss Lee was great, but her voice is NO WHERE even close to the 13 and 14 year old voice of Tanya Tucker. Also, while Miss Lee had emotion in her voice, the emotion that Tanya Tucker puts into her songs--What's Your Momma's Name, and Blood Red and Goin' Down--sets her apart as a teenaged singer.
