The one song she never does live and it is her best..Nonethless Brenda Russell is one of the best composers, songwriters and vocalists ever...I waited four decades to see her perform and she was utterly fabulous!

I couldn't agree more. This is one of the most slept-on albums in the last 40 years. It's been covered, sample, but Brenda has never the recognition she deserved as a master songwriter
@josmith8233 Жыл бұрын
She has it, but far too low key and with too few awards. Perhaps when the colorpurpke movie comes out, she will get the deserved accolades.

+fryelee11 Brenda Russell's version has far more dimension and depth. It also create's this haunting nature about it, that sticks with you, long after the song is over with. The song is far more suited for Brenda's voice.

I have studied art, studied law, won many cases between the 70s thru 2000s, the US Sup.Ct. even quoted me, and I have written music and books as I traveled the world. But I have never heard music greater that the songs of Brenda Russell. Would someone please organize a show for her in Washington DC before Christmas 2107. Walter Blair CEO basamagazines@gmail.com. And of course let me know. If she is performing in the East Coast any time soon, please let me know. Brenda Russell keep singing.

Susan Szabo you think Cheryl Ladds version is the best. But Brenda Russell wrote it. Just like Whitney Houston version is best of I'll Always Love You. But Dolly Parton wrote it.

This version is just as good as Cheryl Ladd's! But then again, Brenda co-wrote this song with her ex-husband Brian (who is now married to Cheryl)!
