This dude has been through so much trauma in the last decade that it’s insane. Sexual assault, bankruptcy, divorce, multiple surgeries for injuries sustained on his lower back (laminectomy), knee replacement, a complete redo of his vocal cords, separation from his kids, and severe depression. Yet here he is today, despite being kicked, assaulted, beaten down…he’s beaten the demons outside and inside his mind. Takes great strength to do that at your worst. He’s a very nice guy.

I met this Brendan at Universal studios in Orlando. I was 8 years old and the Mummy was my favorite movie. I was gonna give him my hat to sign, but it was my White Sox hat. Instead, he gave me his hat and signed saying "I'm the man!". Awesome dude.

Brendan Fraser has been such a staple of my childhood. My Grandpa and I would always watch The Mummy and The Mummy Returns, I remember just setting up my plushies to act like we were at the cinema and I’d sit on that white couch next to my grandpa. After we binged through the movies I’d put it right at the first Mummy again, no complaints what so ever with my grandpa. The last time I rewatched it with my grandpa was two months before he passed away. It was the last movie I ever watched with him. Lol, I even got his Medjai tattoo in honor. Many of us grew up watching him since the 90s. I remember him being the action hero, the troubled hated teen, the comedic jungle/Encino/looney tune man, a helpful friend for a legendary director, and my personal favorite a special spirit friend for a funny but caring doctor. Its a shame that DC Batgirl film was canceled, I would've totally like to see his take on Firefly. This new film and his upcoming film with Scorsese, De Niro, & DiCaprio will sure admire newer generations.

I love him. We grew up poor and my mom saved enough money to take my brother and I to the movie theater for the first time. We got the early matinee, bought a cold orange Shasta soda for .25 cents and some chips. The mummy was the first movie I ever saw at the movie theater. I had a crush on him since that movie lol. This man will forever be in my memories. What a great movie. I was in Vegas recently staying at the luxor (pyramid) hotel. And the mummy was on. My nieces and I watched it and they also loved the movie. So happy for him. May more blessings come his way. I can't wait to watch this new film with sadie :)

I actually walked past Brendan on the street in Chelsea once, about 15 year ago, and briefly stopped to tell I him how much I loved Encino Man and Blast From The Past, and all his work really. I said “thank you” for so many great childhood memories with his films. He shook my hand with two hands and said “no, thank you..for letting me be part of them”. 😭 And walked away. He was so genuine, looked me right in the eyes, big smile, and this warmth and kindness just exuded from him. This man is not only a gifted actor, he’s the rarest of all things in this world: a genuinely kind and good human being. Soooo happy for his revived success, the accolades and the renewed adoration he’s finally receiving. Because he truly deserves it. When good things happen to good people, it’s just the best.
