Thank you everyone for watching & supporting the channel. It truly means a lot! Let me know if there's any more actors out there with an interest in photography! Always down for another episode if I find enough info. I also want to thank Pixpa for sponsoring today's video if you're interested in checking them out here's the link: www.pixpa.com/?ref=hopper & if you want to check out my website: tinyurl.com/2s45zh6y

That fact some famous people are amateur photographers can be an inspiration to others that you can do photography for your own personal satisfaction only. That is probably the most important lesson to me. That some are excellent photographers is a bonus.

Thank you Tatiana, what I like about your silver screen series is that you show me the world through the eyes of an actor by their photography instead of seeing them as a character in a film. Mr. Frazier is no different he's a wonderful actor but to see the world though his eyes makes his images special and makes me appreciate him as a person instead of an actor. Personally speaking I would love to see his images in a book one day.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful comment Rich, I’m so glad you see the episodes that way, I’m the same with the respect I found for Fraser outside of the screen, I loved what I saw and I wish I could’ve found the images with a proper resolution to better study them. Thank you for watching Rich! 🙏🏻

Thanks for this "actors who are also photographers" series Tatiana. As someone who's worked on quite a few commercial and movie sets, it makes complete sense that starring actors would have a photographic interest there - and the crucial component is that they are also one of the few people who would be allowed to explore that. There's always interesting things happening on sets, with lots of downtime, yes. Anything behind the scenes is usually just as interesting as what's in the opposite direction of what is being filmed, which is obviously designed to have cameras pointed at it and thus lit well. You could point your phone at a set lit by a professional Director of Photography and it will look like a movie frame, for obvious reasons. Also, it's hard to get professional high end cameras on sets for security purposes. Usually the only people allowed such cameras are a visual effects person and an on set photographer for PR. Departments can be a bit insular so a lot of the crew doesn't necessarily know each other through the course of a production. So if some random crew member is taking photos outside the area of their roll, on their phone, or even on a small high end camera like a rangefinder, that would raise some eyebrows and potentially also get them fired. However, the lead actors are in the inner circle of the Producer(s), First AD, DP, and Director and because everyone on set knows who they are, none of them are going to question the security of them taking an occasional picture. Now you've got me thinking I should do a future video regarding this on my own new channel.

Fame is like an acid trip. The person with fame has a warped idea of reality and we (the rest of us) have a warped idea about the person with fame. Take away the name, these pictures are average at best, they're not going to win any photographic competitions.

On the subject of people primarily known for one thing with an interest in another I remember reading an interview with Josef Koudelka who when asked about some of his early influences cited Bela Lugosi saying that one of things he really admired about Lugos's photographs was that his landscapes somehow elicited a very similar emotional response to that of his people studies which in Koudelka's opinion indicated a very refined "vision" . . .

I wonder if part of the reason these actors are passionate about photography is because they see all this complexity and friction in making motion pictures and with stills they can make images that are arguably just as moving as an entire motion picture with such simplicity. Just a person and their camera. Click. Having been to film school and worked on sets and big productions, there’s something really special about going out at sunrise and capturing what I think are powerful images all by myself. One frame at a time.

Great mini documentary about an #actor who is an amateur #photographer. Although the photos are low res, they seem interesting. I don't understand how someone can create a website using a celebrity's photos without their permission. Unless that website owner who acted like a Jeffrey Goldstein, John Moof, Ron Slattery, Randy Prow and David C. Deal who basically used late Vivian Maier's 8mm films, film negatives, and prints to make money off them. As you said at 10:02, celebrities like #BrendanFraser, #JasonLee, #JeffBridges and others might be just documenting their lives, what happens behind the scenes when filming a movie. Or photographing just for fun. As long as they are enjoying what they are doing, who cares?
