One of the greatest songs ever written IMO and I presume composed by Brendan as DCD stopped playing this magnificent track back in the early 1990's . But BP plays it at his solo gigs .. Fortunate that I saw DCD play this track 3 times back in the 1980's and that was the time to see them. Unfortunately the band's albums although good have not reached the creative peak of the period 1984/1990.

I realize your comment is old, but they played it a lot in 2019. You can hear it in the love recordings from that year. It's got a different arrangement but still excellent.

@@etiennedegaulle3817 I had noticed that . Also they were playing a lot of material from those 1980's albums that they had stopped playing in the 1990's. I still think the period 1984/1990 was the absolute zenith of this band though, and I am glad that I saw them 3 times live in that period. I got to meet and speak to Lisa after one gig in 1987 and the encounter is one that I will take to my grave ! I was a fan of the music of Astrid from her days with Goya Dress in the mid 1990's plus her later solo stuff. Again I met and spoke to her long before she joined DCD.

Anyone know the words to the extra verse he sings on tour these days? I saw him live and he sang a whole new verse after "You will never find." I don't think he's ad-libbing either, since I've seen several videos where he does it. But all the lyrics sites only seem to list the older, original song lyrics. Just wondering! Brilliant song of course. One of their (his) best...

yes. he sings a verse from a song called "the snow fell" by a band called Skrewdriver. I saw them twice recently and it both times he sang the first verse from that song. then he went on a very bleeding heart speech about destroying Israel. that was unexpected.

@@dustining3201 Are you sure it's from "the snow fell"? I can't find any verse that seems to match. Could it be another song of theirs? EDIT: completely shocked to find out that's a neo-nazi band, and wtf about destroying Israel. That's f-ing disgusting if that's really where BP has taken DCD. I don't get it 💔

@@dustining3201 Lightly dug into this & found a statement from Brendan on his facebook page, back in August 11, 2014 where he opened by saying: "In response to previous comments and accusations made against me here on facebook I would first like to categorically deny being an anti semite or holding any racist views for that matter." Your comment is from 2019 So either he morphed from a humanitarian bleeding-heart leftist into a racist far-right fanatic over those 5 years, or you're a liar. Here are the lyrics to Skrewdriver's song "The Snow Fell" - you said "I saw them twice recently and both times he sang the first verse from that song." So I guess everyone can listen & follow along, and decide for themselves if these lyrics sound anything like the words coming out of his mouth in this song. For me they don't: Skrewdriver - "The Snow Fell" He sat in a room in a square of the color of blood. He'd rule the whole world if there was a way that he could. He'd sit and he'd stare at the minreds on top of the towers. For he was a beast as he hatched his new plans to gain power. (chorus) And the snow fell covering the dreams and ideals. And the snow fell freezing the blood and the wheels. And the snow fell they had to keep up for survival. And the snow fell defeating the beast's only rival. They took the old roads that Napoleon had taken before. They fought as a force as a light against the darkness in a holy war. @@nataliaturner4845 "The Snow Fell" is from a Skrewdriver album released in 1987, and there are DCD live recordings from 1986 where Brendan was singing the extra verse, so I don't think this is case. Also, Skrewdriver broke up in 1993 so saying things like "saw them twice recently" doesn't make any sense.

@@Alerce_ yeah that guy is definitely lying & should be ashamed of himself. I think Brendan has criticized Israel in the same way that anyone with a decent heart has, which is miles away from "calling for Israel's destruction" as that person claimed (perhaps they are a right-wing Israeli nationalist).
