Thanks you for making these iPad videos, an app I really like is ThumbJam especially the blues organ, it’s very easy to create sounds that fit just using your finger or two fingers for chords, it also has an audio to midi option as well.

Yes, ThumbJam is a good one :)

I got a question...I have iPad pro and loaded ToneBridge..have a new Samson Satellite microphone...sound is great in my headphones...can it be output to speakers? Tried but it was feedback or no sound...do I need a amp or what do I do to hear it the way you videos sound? I am 67 and get zoom harmonica lessons from my teacher here in Maine... I find the iPad and harmonica work fairly well with my garage band app. Can the Tone Bridge be used with Garage Band is my second question? New to all this for one year...music helping during my cancer recovery...my medical therapy. Thanks for sharing your gifts. Dana via coast of Maine

I have worked in sound, audio engineer in, audio post production, for both music in the studio live, as well as post production for film. I have been experimenting running the harmonica through my iPad Pro 10.5. I recently picked up a new audio interface that I cannot recommend it enough. The Arturia Audio Fuse. Very portable, can be powered with a power bank plenty of inns and outs. And it sounds fantastic. Much better than any of the headphone options that are available currently which I have experimented with. If you are interested in diving deeper, I highly suggest checking out an app called AUM. It is basically a virtual mixer on the iPad which will allow you to route different instruments and effects. Currently attempting to split the harmonica in two separate signals, one clean one affected, in order to do sonic experimentation. Once I have something solid perhaps I will post a video.

Thanks Joshua! I checked out the Arturia AudioFuse: it certainly looks great, an amazing number of functions and connections in a small package, but it's not cheap! You could buy three refurbed iPads for that money.... Part of my focus is in encouraging the average harmonica player to try out the iPad for effects and Midi, and I think that kind of financial outlay and complexity might put many off. Whilst the audio interface options I show here are certainly pretty basic, they are very affordable and simple to understand. I see the Audio Fuse comes with a suite of software effects, but they don't seem to be available as iPad apps - or are they? If not, I wouldn't be interested personally until they were. But thanks for the heads up - I'll give it a whirl at some point and perhaps become a convert :) Re AUM: I have it as well, but at present prefer using Audiobus as my mixer. However I'd be interested to see what you do with AUM if/when you post a video on it. The more options, the merrier!

Hi Brendan, Thank you for sharing useful information! I am trying to use my very old IPAD but I couldn't find the headphone socket input device( Tiger xxx ) mentioned in your video either in Amazon-USA or Ebay. What is the exact model reference?

Hello, I purchased the I Rig HD and using Tonebridge. I can't turn off the Ipad Mini mic. When i do it shuts of the mic option for Tonebridge. So what happens is i get all the sound from my band mates. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Brendan, does this work for a low-impedance microphone? Also, have you tried connecting the microphone to iPad directly using a cannon-to-3.5mm XLR cable?

Very interesting video Brendan, you've pushed me to take again my Focusrite iTack dock. Besides Garage band what are the effect apps you're using ?
@BrendanPowerMusic4 жыл бұрын
Hi Christelle, always good to hear from you :) I have Garageband, which works for pedal/amp effects as well as Midi, but for guitar-type effects I prefer Tonebridge, Tonestack and Bias-FX. I'll be doing videos on each of them, starting with Tonebridge very soon. Garageband is very cool though, will devote a video or two to it later on.

@@BrendanPowerMusic Yeah I love Garage Band very much as well....Thank you so much for mentioning the other softwares I will try them out....Btw your other video on transforming an audio to midi is really impressive

BrendanPowerMusic I‘m really looking forward to your BIAS Fx and GarageBand Videos. I am still a beginner with the harmonica and have been experimenting with both apps for a short time. so far I think it's pretty good

Is that the Europa Santana effect at 5:50 ? I tried it and cannot get it to play the preview sound or take my mic input. If not, what effect is that so I can find it in the Category section ? Thanks ! Having fun with this stuff !
@BrendanPowerMusic4 жыл бұрын
Yes, Europa Santana patch. Without being there I can't give advice on why your sound isn't playing. Is the volume turned up on your iPad? That's the first thing to check... Aside from that, as soon as you plug in the interface Tonebridge should recognise it, so I'm not sure what's wrong. Hopefully you have sorted it by now 👍
@airmojo4 жыл бұрын
@@BrendanPowerMusic Yeah, I checked all that, rebooted ipad, etc... other effects work fine so far, but that one won't... the preview play doesn't do anything either... oh well... I'll play with others and come back to it... I got your vimeo videos to watch too... thanks Brendan !

Hi , Very interesting video. Tonebridge sounds good but do you know how to record ? Thank you
@BrendanPowerMusic4 жыл бұрын
There are many recording apps in the iPad. Or you can record by running the signal into your computer or dedicated recording device.
