Because he blame Brendan for his brother over dose,because was a drug dealer Because Brendan loves his Stephen so much ,he wants to kill him for Brendan will feel it

I’m 9 years late to this comment so hopefully you still want an answer 😂 my guess is because Brendan gave walkers brother drugs that killed him in turn walker wants to take ste’s life so that Brendan knows what it’s like to lose a loved one 🤷🏻‍♀️ I can’t remember if that is the reason but it’s a possibility
