The most bizarre thing about some bosses is that they’re the ones getting promotions & awards. I’ve known quite a few who were hated but managed to get recognition from the higher ups.

if you observe manipulative ,narcissistic person and 3 year old child its basicaly the same state of mind, many of mental disorders are just like that, people stay mentally at the age when they experienced trauma, they cant process their emotions, many bosses are like that because they want to compensate this with possessions and power over other people, its really great advice to see them as big kids and dont react to their moods

Psycho bosses that can effect your mental well being, work performance, loss of finances, potential housing insecurity is like Stalin. They’re holding your life in their hands & this can cause panic & ptsd. This kind of workplace abuse is common & hard not to take personally when it’s literally effecting your entire personal life. Quitting is the way.

Psychotic bosses are jealous of your unique traits, insecure because of their unfulfilled desires, become angry when a client and team member compliments your empathetic tendencies and good hearted nature, and do whatever necessary to turn others against you in order to justify letting you go.

Good advice. I had a wretched boss. She had me doing her work and then was getting kudos from management. I never let her upset me. She was used to terrorizing people. My co-worker went on meds, since she was so stressed out. This boss then engineered my getting laid off. Things didn’t go well for her after that and she was asked to leave. My old company asked me to go back. I passed since I had found a better job. Robert is correct in not letting bosses upset you. You give away your power.

Preach! If YOU are yelling at ME, that is prima facie personal. Don't make such lame excuses for their behavior(s) and for treating another human being like s***. Shut them down very quickly by setting clear, firm boundaries. Don't have to be an a-hole about it, but don't have to be a doormat either.

Given the way I grew up I consider my skilled in controlling my emotional outward reactivity. With what I say and how I say it. But at the end of the day you still need to address your bosses emotions because they skew their perception of you, and ultimately could mean the difference between being fired or not.

I am going to work completely stoic from now on. I am tired of wasting energy on interpersonal issues at work. I had a boss who one day had "the boss " hat on and the next wanted to be friendly and then controlling. I felt on edge, unstable, stomach problems, drained , jumpy, mental fogginess, struggling with my words, and when i stopped in person communication, she had an attitude with on the emails. It was awful. I am not playing this game. Work is not for friendship

Bosses want their ass kissed. Kiss it, without SEEMING like you are, you win . Feeling like you're kissing ass, interrupt the boss during what they are doing, and say, "I know you're a Giants fan, how did you like the game?" Your telling them that 'you're asking about something in life." Not seeming like it;, randomly, even if it's planned make it seem like randomly you just so happens you have a Giants logo on your cup, or a Giants Jersey in your car, or a sticker on your car, ect. The phrase is, it just so happens. It just so happens that me and the boss agreed. It just so happens this is the best boss I ever had. It just so happens I'm one of the rare people who like my job

What if my productivity and speed and efficiency depends on my boss doing her fudging job and doing her part but she doesn't want to do her job and shows up whenever she feels like it? I don't think I will get fired for being less productive but I am all about productivity. I am looking at some other job opportunities but it may take a while for me to get a new job. Any advice??

Was there less than two weeks Asked fir help, big job laying out machine pads. Help denied. So I gave two weeks notice he sacked me. Good luck, the machine arrives in two weeks.
