Day 1 here in Leogang was quite the handful. Crashes, mud and wild times. So stoked to be back at the races and with the best crew.

But to be fair. Brendon could have gone way quicker off the track after crashing. Shaking mud off his clothes and talking to people while his bike is lying in the middle of the track...

Keep in mind, there's a high likelihood he's having to ride B practice, not A practice, so he's in with 80+ newbies or not quite readys. Just the sheer awe of a World Cup, let alone one that's straight the F down on a muddy day turns your local pro into a bumbling buffoon quick. Watch Cathro's helmet cam & realize he's had top 10 World Cup finishes. And Brendog baking a mud pie at mach chicken and "saying" he's ok isn't ok for most. Takes a minute to get your shlt together even if you're just fine.

Yeah the uci need to get there shit together. Riders bikes being stolen, other riders blocking the track which are just a couple things I've noticed recently

No because they're dolts. They do it at the local downhill parks where I live as well. it's like they're in their own world... 🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️🤦‍♂️ It's a lack of self-awareness and a greater awareness of the world around them. Now on one hand I get that being so focused on something tends to reduce awareness on a personal and greater level. But that being said, you simply cannot forget that you are on a fecking active track.

From Bernard's video, the track walk seemed okay in the open section but boggy in the forest. There were some reckoning that it might be worse when it dries out, because the open sections would be dry but the forest would be rutted and boggy/swampy etc so tyre choice would be difficult! Don't think much is different from last time so that should help! At least, unless you land on a stump/root/rock, when you come off in the mud it's kind of soft! Pro's really earning it this round!
