After watching this I'm pumped to see what happens on race day. I'm bummed you didn't qualify for it but there's always another race. The track looks absolutely relentless! It would be great see the podium shuffled a bit and some mudders get some top results. I heard his father was a mudder...

Ben ,looks like the rock shox suspension package is not doing that good in the sloppy mud I can’t wait to see what they come up with for the future looks like they had it in point in the beginning when the rain just started but there suspension is looking a bit rusty at the moment! Kinda like precision lacks power and strength!

Its crazy watching you guys in the UK ride in the mud all the time. Looks fun, but in a lot of places its illegal on our public trails in the US, because obviously, it destroys them. I get that this is a race track in this video, but can you guys ride public trails when muddy in the UK? Sick video 🤜🤛
@oliverbourne95992 жыл бұрын
Everything is open nearly all the time to ride. Sometimes storms or snow will close bike parks but it's rare. Unsponsored Trails out in the Hills are not policed and there are no weather rules in the UK
@thisoldbelair2 жыл бұрын
@@oliverbourne9599 thats awesome. Thanks for sharing. One of my favorite local trails here in Michigan is owned by the state parks, and it was built and maintained mostly by volunteers, so they’re really strict about not riding when its muddy. All the trails are closed for the spring thaw season (about two months) and you can be ticketed for riding when they’re muddy. I can’t say i blame them tho, this trail is the flowiest berm trail we have and it’s beautiful.

@thisoldbelair2 жыл бұрын
@@tyneuendorf6887 DTE Energy Trail. Its in the Waterloo Recreation Area just outside of Chelsea, MI. Highly recommend. Best (and pretty much only) flow trail in southern Michigan. There’s four loops, totaling about 22 miles of trail.

@@thisoldbelair awesome, thanks! I'm a 3hr+ drive from there right now but I'm moving soon and I'll be able to make an easy day trip out of it this fall. Have you been to the trails in berrien Springs? I'm thinking about going over there next week for the first time

Not trying to be a downer but when is a track deemed unrideable? I want to see all the riders enjoying themselves not just hammering through a mire of muck that isn't really fair to the riders to have to deal with conditions no matter what right? I dunno I'm just saying it'd suck of course for coordinators to lose out on an event but when do we say it's just too muddy for a race...never?

Mud races are lame. I wish the UCI would stop waisting all their time in Europe. There is far superior terrain almost anywhere else. Can't understand why they can only muster one US race at the lamest venue in the entire country. This Sport needs to abandon the UCI.
