Manie a highly talented player, and a very attacking flyhalf with what I term as "rugby IQ". He obviously has a problem with inconsistent kicking at poles, and needs to absorb the BMT when it comes to kicking for goal. Good to hear that Rassie & Co have a plan to address this issue.

Go look at the endings of the quarter, semi and final of the WC last year and you will get the idea. In the context of last weekend it is like a penalty in soccer that the penalty expert totally misses. Again. And seeing that you drag mussed chances to tey and score a try into your answer, who messed up that penalty to the sideline to set up a maul for a try? Sorry, also Manie. To further illustrate, go check the ending of the Currie Cup final on Saturday.

This team and coach are phenomenal, win or lose, and we always learn something from them. We will drink from the same cup, we don't take the easy way out, and look for a scapegoat. While I admire Manie's attacking prowess at flyhalf, his goal-kicking consistency under test pressure remains a concern. To maximize his potential and alleviate kicking stress, I propose having Pollard on the field as a kicking specialist. Manie is a good player. Please note that good not great.... He should not play without a specialist kicker like Jordan Hendrickse at fullback. But i wish him the best and Rassie must take full responsibility for the result, positive or negative. Rassie is a great coach but can be arrogant at times.... Play your best team to get ahead, then bring on your bomb squad... Do not bring on the bomb squad to save your butt.

Thank you Brenden, I think it will be 20 , 30 or even a 40 pointer for the boks on Saturday. They will also be world no 1 again on Monday. Such huge debt in the group and all the management and coaching staff makes it a very professional outfit. The best in decades. Sacha's injury ruled Manie in to play. Masuku needs a shot for the year end series. Lets not at all play around the facts. Manie needs to go back to club and improve his kicking. Siya Masuku (Champions Challenge Cup winner and Currie cup winner for the Sharks) needs a call up to be in the Springboks camps and learn the systems, so must Sanele Nohamba (versatile player URC Player of the Year 2023/2024 season at flyhalf and scrumhalf options). We now see clearly that the Boks need more depth at flyhalf than is the case currently. Grateful the Moerat has been left out. He also needs to go to Dobbo and learn how to be more aggressive on the pitch as well as lead with authenticity and inspiration. He too has been leap frigged by Ruan Nortje. Doesn't deserve any Captaincy crumbs anymore. He has had his chance and others need to be considered too going forward. Let's not get it twisted, last weekend was a stuff up by Rassie. We not only lost the match, we lost a winning streak, we also lose Ranking, whcih sadly cannot be regained on our own steam. Ireland will have to lose twice for us to get our place back by years end, but that doesn't mean Ireland wont regain it in the January and February 6 nations campaigns. So to be clear, we are most likely to stay second on rankings until next year June July, hoping we can get Ireland to to play against as well as win decisively against the French in the season. consistency is needed Rassie. We need no more than 6 changes per game and in that stability, 2 new youngsters per game can be added. We have identified our talent pool, lets grow their test caps as we head towards RWC 2027.

Siya Masuku can only kick but can't create play,no one in South Africa can create play like Manie. They may have the upper hand at goalkicking but Libbok can create tries out of nothing. That's how he ended up at the Boks by being the best 10 in the country at the Stormers. You can really go sit in a corner and sulk about being NR.1 The World Cup Trophy is enough reason for it to make any sense. Support the Boks in losing and in winning otherwise you're just a plastic fan.

Unfortunately, he has not been able to overcome being yanked in that WC game when he couldn't kick over a few penalties. It's a confidence thing. One positive ito BMT, is that he is the one flyhalf who doesn't allow his goalkicking to affect his general play. That means he does have a special temperament, it's just his goal kicking that is bad at the moment.

You make a good point. I for one don't throw Libbok the playmaker abd tactical kicker away. I cheer and celebrate him. But he is an unreliable goal kicker. And that can be cool too - as long as there is another reliable goal kicker in the team to take the winning kicks. And Kolve has been tried. Faf as well. And we lost then too,, didn't we? Dublin was it? And Ireland last year in the pool game? And when we won, it was Pollard in the big moment. Before him Percy and before him Stransky. The issue for many - me included - is "yea. Play Manie! But as the playmaker, not the place kicker". I don't see any indication from Rassie and his team that they think we should have a reliable place kicker. Like we had in the last three WC games. Are they actually planning on not worrying about penalty kick but planning on running scores of tries in in every deciding game? If so a horrible waking up waits.

Some players are meant to be international players and others not, sorry. Yes, you cannot change now, but looking at the ages of many players, I think Rassie have problems for the next WC! He needs centers, another 15 with Fassi, and new 1 and 3's. The loose forwards he tries out now are also not that good and he must take another team on the European tour at the end of this year. Moerat is also not a Captain, nor a future lock for the Boks. He again failed to handle the pressure when it was needed.

Wonderful running and distribution, great defence and wonderful line kicking. But he is a PROVEN unreliable kicker to posts. Proven. This last weekend and previous times in other games. All the WC's SA won, was won with a reliable kicker to post in the team. And in three they actually snatched the win. Stransky.
