Surely, it's not the public/supporters' fault that Manie missed the easy kick (again). It is expected of the supporters to be at the games purchase kit/merchandise and support the team. So surely the supporter's base can be pissed when easy kicks get missed and repeated team selection mistakes like Moerat is made. So don't blame the support base.....

Brendon I think that Manie will be under big pressure from the local fans. Could even end up being booed. A great person to mentor Manie through this and possibly coming weeks would be Percy Montgomery. He has experienced the wrath of the fickle fan, went away from SA rugby and came back with ice in his veins. All Manie needs, is ice in his veins. He can kick but just not when he needs to.

You make a good point. But Manie is an unreliable goal kicker. A great playmaker but an unreliable goal kicker. I am celebrating him as a playmaker but point out that he loses games with goal kicking. Games that is there for the taking in one good kick to posts. Like the WC final. That means - like Butch James had in Percy in the previous wc final in Paris - a team with Manie in must have another player as the goal kicker. And Kolbe has been tried. Faf too. They are not specialists goal kickers either. I hope Rassie is not planning on the Boks playing without a top level goal kicker and planning to run in lots of tries so they don't have to take points from kicking. Because then a very nasty awakening may wait.
