I've seen them online and wanted to try them, but the reviews weren't great. I've had fried Mexican grasshoppers (chapulines) that were chili/lime/salt flavor. They were good!! @@BouncingTribbleshaving tried freeze dried crickets before (which I assume is the same process the brand Zac and Brennan tried uses) I can confirm it’s nothing like a the end of a shrimp tail. Freeze dried crickets really do simply disappear into the most flavorless, barely perceptible dust. You can coax some flavor and texture back if you eat a big handful and let the resulting paste reconstitute a little in your mouth. And then it just turns into like… mud. Literally they are as earthy as mud if you eat a big handful and let them sit in your mouth. Brennan and Zac did the right thing, eat a couple at a time and move on to the next thing.
