I think that constant access to media and the accessibility of travel (for many people) has done a lot to erase regional accents Also, neurodivergent people don't develop accents in a typical way One study found that autistic children will pick up the accents they hear at school, rather than the accent at home Neurodivergent people can also have echolalia, which includes repeating words and phrases you hear and mimicking accents So IF Zac is neurodivergent (which is not uncommon among comedians/entertainers or the Dropout cast), living around people without Southern accents could influence his accent

This is going to sound wildly precocious, but in my group of friends I'm the most brennan-like, and I totally understand why he can't contain himself with Zac. Because Brennan, even when he's not the focus, is always running through a list of ways he would approach a situation or get a laugh, and when Zac chimes in with something brilliantly funny it's NEVER something Brennan would have done. He just loves always being surprised by Zac coming at it from a totally different angle from him. I have a couple friends like that, where I couldn't hold the laugh if I wanted because I'm so delighted by hearing something so surprising and genuinely funny. I have that same incessant inner dialogue and even when I chuckle or find someone funny, it's rarely "out of left field" because it falls in the list somewhere.
