I've always gotten the impression that Brent was a very kind, cool guy, but without sounding dramatic, I feel comfortable saying that after meeting him at the National Parts Depot checkpoint on Sick Week 2023, he's easily the nicest, most pleasant, gentlemen that I've ever met in the automotive/racing community !! This is the community that I have been in, day and night for many years, so that is no small statement. Dude is an inspiration.. Dude has my respect for sure. If you have never met the guy, you're missing out!!

This is by far the best Podcast you've done to date. I've been wanting to sue the EPA for violation of civil liberties. It's sad that folks like Brent are dealing with this sort of tactic.
@ls_812

Yeah it's funny how they sue him for selling Hondata but Jegs and Summit get away with selling stuff like that. They know the big guys have the money for good lawyers. But it's BS that a group of people who weren't elected into office are allowed to do what they are doing.

I feel Brent on living in the times before the internet took over! I bought a wrx (first US shipment) and took delivery in march 2001. I talked alot of talking to suppliers on what might work. 15k invested minus the car and it put down 387hp to the wheels. Had to drive 4 hrs after renting a uhaul trailer on a trip to Seattle to get on a 4wd dyno. I was 20 at the time and making good money and put it all in on that car. Ran 11's and fealt like i was on top of the world!

Right-to-repair and the EPA are the two biggest things I cannot stand in this world right now. Not being able to get certain parts to repair things yourself, or requiring special software that only the manufacturer has to be able to fix certain things is just unacceptable. Have an xbox controller that works perfectly fine other than the joystick going out? Well turns out the best option is to just buy another one because you can't easily repair it! How about all the extra emissions and landfill waste from not being able to repair perfectly fine products and keep them usable for longer? All the extra shipping and manufacturing to create a product over and over because the companies want to make everything consumable and temporary for maximum profit. Almost every facet of life is affected by this stuff. Housing, automotive, medical, commercial, literally everything. Louis Rossman does great videos on this stuff. Just ridiculous world we live in sometimes. Once you go down the rabbit hole of how crazy some of these things are, it just makes you lose faith.
