Kudos to Brian Wampler for keeping this an honest gear report and serving the best in music possible in allowing competitor product to be shown on Brents commentary. It shows great integrity, and your goodwill towards your clients best interests... as a fan of Strymon and Wampler, my boards are combinations of both, and that hits tones no single company has achieved - (yet). Well done Brian & Brent!

I love that every guitar he has he says “sounds great.” No shit it sounds great, Brent Mason is playing it.

Thanks Brian for always bringing good videos and cool pedals! Plus the bad ass himself...The king of country!

The fender telecaster and deluxe reverb seems to be the starting point for the Nashville sound. I have a pair of 71s a thinline tele and a deluxe reverb and love them very much!

Brent's the Man! Tele guys he is a Tele lover at heart, BUT when you do all the different projects he works on You have to be have a full arsonal of everything available and when you get to this status and have guitars specifically designed for and by you know they have got to be fabulous. Aren't we all just a little jealous?
@wampler_pedals12 жыл бұрын
Very true, that's why it is a "Brent Mason gear run down" video and not a "Brent Mason playing guitar" video ;)

A lot of his pedals have changed. Pedals I noticed that are no longer on his board and weren't mentioned: EP Booster, RC Booster, Line6 DL4 to name a few.

That’s amazing to think those guitars survived the flood!

The Tele is truly a lovable guitar...simple but always a favorite to all guitarists that own one.

I wish Brent would talk about and demo the b-bender on his tele! What a great player and all around humble guy!

+John Kendall Pretty sure his is a G bender.
@wampler_pedals8 жыл бұрын
+lkb3rd Nah, Brent uses a B-bender. Paisley uses a G bender though.
@ernie12man12 жыл бұрын
but,.... HOW DOES IT SOUND? Sampling, as he goes is a great way to put the thing with the sound. Less talkin, more rockin or some of both on gear rundowns is always helpful.
@AnotherGuitarAddict12 жыл бұрын
I live in Nashville. Brent is not the first person to say that their guitars sounded better after being "washed in the flood". Brad Paisley's tech said the same thing. I don't know the science behind that. I remember how heartbreaking it was watching the Gibson Showcase store out by the Opry just throw away all those Les Pauls, 335s, etc... even the ones where nothing was wrong with them. It's enough to make you cry.

I wonder what the mod is in the Bassman! I have a 1966 bassman head that I would like to do the same with...

Brent has had a high turn over of amps in recent years, some of them were destroyed in the floods as well. :(
@anthonykalcic10 жыл бұрын
I agree with open back cabinet, it breathes easier. Even for bass like the 4x12 Fender De Ville sounds like a million bucks, so they tell me and a good wooden floor helps out. Concrete don't vibrate. Boxed in cabinets are muffeled.

Am I the only person that found it hilarious when he started digging through that pedal drawer and being like "Oh yeah! I forgot I had this pedal!" LOL! Also it drives my ocd crazy the way that he pronounces reverb without the long e. He's Brent Mason though. LOL!

Does it hurt the amp or a bad thing to run compressor all the time?

Not at all, well, it's never hurt any of mine in the years I've been using them!!! :)

Always wondered how those amp heads release all the heat they produce? Having all that foam around them. Some of my amps have a top vent too.

The back panel and front panel come off the rack. You also usually take the back panel off the amplifiers

Brent, it looks like you have reconfigured where you attach your strap on the tele. How did you do that?
@savethemule10 жыл бұрын
drill a hole, put the strap button there. done.
@sethfwooten10 жыл бұрын
it's a b-bender mechanism, it usually requires a strap button relocation
@tonytrout10 жыл бұрын
Seth Wooten More correct, it's a Joe Glaser B-Bender mechanism (which attaches to the neck plate of the guitar rather than have the back of the guitar routed like a Parsons/White).

It's funny how he's an amazing guitarist yah know, but has the most beatup ugly looking guitars I've ever seen haha. I'm sure they still sound great, but its just funny to see someone who is famous for his guitar work, not have really "pretty guitars". If it sounds good I guess that's all that matters.
