Still can’t believe Jenkins pinned David Taylor in the nationals the following year, or year after that. I know DT was only a freshman, but he’s so good. I think DT’s only other losses were to Dake, both close matches.

I miss this style of wrestling. Breaking them mentality is even better than breaking them physically.

Pinning combination was dope

Great video... thanks for posting! And whoa, was that a smile on Metcalf at 0:44 during the interview? I didn't know he had the smiling muscles.

I drove up to Penn State to watch this match. It was awesome. Was disappionting to see him lose at Nationals, he works so hard and is such an awesome wrestler. I really hope Metcalf wins Nationals next year. This kids fucking awesome.

I think the one move Metcalf is vulnerable to is a quick spinning throw.

Pause at 0:44 Metcalf tries to smile. This is the 1st time I've seen him smile.

People always said Metcalf grabbed headgear, I never believed it but you can actually see his fingers locked into the headgear on the hi crotch. He apparently grabbed Caldwells in the finals as well, the ref remarked about it. Guess its not illegal if you don't get caught.

In the national championship match against Lance Palmer you can see him grabbing Palmer's singlet to keep from being taken down and he would have lost.
@b3ntl3y3 жыл бұрын
@@chethammer I saw that recently as well. Probably the dirtiest champ ever.

What channel can I watch wrestling on? I have comcast if it helps.

It would have been 12 -1 with only back points and no pin. I surmise that Bubba wanted out of that match. Some days it's just not your day.

Did Metcalf smile in the pre-match interview???

I'm guessing you have never wrestled before. If you did you would know that it is a rule and they make you wear that if you have braid or dreadlocks or anything like that.

what's with metcalf and black guys
@steventhury836610 ай бұрын
What do you mean? Is this not how Metcalf wrestled everybody? To me, it's racist if you treat a black wrestler differently, just because they're black.
@yessir788112 жыл бұрын
Is he racist?
@Nonpeon8 жыл бұрын
Don't understand why someone couldn't use Metcalf's momentum against him, like in Judo. Maybe these wrestlers should have also taken Judo lessons to complement the wrestling...
@JudoMateo8 жыл бұрын
Mixing the two is a brutal combo, I feel that you must study both to even attempt to be the best grappler possible. Although they share many techniques their teaching methods and concepts are more subtle than their counterpart in some ways yet less developed in other areas so learning both fills out some of the weak points and strengthens some of the stronger techniques as well.
@vincechiefexec7 жыл бұрын
Easier said than done. It's controlled momentum.
@XxS0CCERxX7 жыл бұрын
Why dont you wrestle him? I wanna see you use his momentum against him
@MAMP5 жыл бұрын
Darion Caldwell did :) . And I agree Metcalf was constantly walking into overhooks, belligerently. Someone should have tossed him on his fuckin head.
@devanrichter34545 жыл бұрын
Yea Metcalf doesn't get thrown though. Hips are too solid. Even with his aggressive style. You run that Caldwell match back 9 more times metcalf takes those 9 in dominant fashion.
