Watching it now he wasn’t. Johny Hendricks either would’ve won or it go to sudden victory or get riden out losing 4-3 if they had challenges and challenge bricks and okst throws the brick and won the challenge back then. They weren’t added till 2013 cause of the infamous Stieber Oliver match

Mark should have never wrestled his senior year at 74. He’s not a true 74 pounder and just got handled. He could have been a 3 timer if he stayed at 65. He probably did it for fhe challenge.

By today's rules Hendricks would have been DQ'd from the match for stalling for his performance in the second round. But of course, they would have modified their action to fit the rules.

i was at the hendricks/churella final the year before. Kessel was a great ref, despite that match. This guy, i believe, brought about the "ref as a third party to the match" mentality. He is awful. I hate when refs insert themselves into the action for no reason. I think this was the guy who started the "still neutral" mantra during a match. I notice that they seem to save their most annoying commentary for the finals.

Perry should have been hit with stalling in the second period. He looked up at the ref to complain because JH had his wrist. What a wuss. He learned to piss-n-moan from his uncle (see Suriano vs Fix)...the irony is quite hilarious. I’d love to see them square-off in the cage and watch JH knock MP out.

This is 14 yr old clip. The rules have changed a bit and tightened in some aspects. Also, the push out becomes a judgement call or would just have some guys trying to shove their opponent out for easy points never intending to get takedowns. It already can be seen on some of the lower tier wrestlers. That defeats the principle and spirit of disciplined wrestling.
