Thank you, Brent, for sharing this story. I was one of those arty Marines destroying the enemy. I still till this day in remorse of whom or what we destroyed. All I cared about was just as long as my brothers were safe.

Thank you, as someone who never enlisted, I watched this entire series today , was off day at work and didn’t have anything else to do. I watched this video and part two as well. Thank you for being willing to share your experiences. I’ve been watching your videos for a while now , brent0331 anyways. I’ve never commented on your videos I’m sure. It was sort of uncanny for me honestly to see some of the pictures you’ve shown. I’m 22. You sort of expect men there who look like you, I guess the people you see and would expect to be veterans, but there’s just so many people who…look like me? interviews I’ve seen I’ve seen people talk about these machine gunners, and they don’t look like Arnold or nothing. They look exactly like me. It’s crazy.

Who else lived on FOB St. Michael’s in 2003-04? I was an Army Infantryman (11B) in 2-6 INF, 1st AD. We relieved the Marines in March 2004 so they could do a push into/on Fallujah and I spoke with the Marine Sniper team when they came back and exchanged stories since I’m also sniper qualified. Tone team was securing the flanks of the main push through Fallujah and they dropped a combatant that tried to run across the intersection and for a couple hours afterwards bad guy after bad guy kept trying to get the AK the first guy dropped and they’d try to swerve, duck, roll, zig-zag in hopes of evading the sniper rounds but…as soon as they reached for the AK, they got dropped. After 15-16 dead bodies laid around the AK they finally gave up. The Marine snipers told me they figured there was some guy around the corner that was coaching the guys tasked to run out and grab the AK “ok Ahmed, don’t do what Rafi did, zag then zig instead, ok? Great, now GO!” We laughed our asses off. St. Michael’s was a former chicken processing plant so it was simply called “the chicken factory”. And we got hit daily from mortars, hand grenades and even RPG rounds flying around sometimes. We had a couple M-109’s pumping out 155mm rounds and one day in June we got hit with a couple mortar rounds and it hit a platoon filling sand bags so the Bn CDR ordered the 155’s to fire until he said to stop, I went onto the roof (where the disco globe was) and watched the palm tree orchard getting ripped apart, trees were flying in the air for 15 minutes! Well, that’s a brief description of some of my experiences there and thankfully I brought all of my platoon back to Baumholder, Germany in July 04. It took a toll on me and I have zero respect for islam since I learned the truth about those people.

I grew up in orange county, CA, around the old MCAS El Toro base, ....some great memories of the airshows there back in the 90's...., I was pretty good at naming all the USMC aircraft when I was a kid

Served with 1/4 DS-DS (H&S as 5711) under 13th MEU. 1988-92. Selective Unmasking, if done by the book, wasn't as simple as finding the lowest ranking Marine and having him remove his mask. I think they shorted you guys on training as there are procedures to lessen risks. But that's 'by the book'. Oh well, shit happens. If GySgt Morales was the same Morales I served with, then I knew him as a LCpl, and he was squared away. The Republican Guard... we dealt with them on Failaka and they weren't very impressive. As for Fd up SNCOs, apparently that's not a new issue, we had them too. Early on in your chat the topic of 'Domestic Enemies' came up. I've got lots to say on that, but as you did, I'll just leave that topic alone. I am of the belief that time will soon tell who's who.

It was nice to hear your story, I wouldn’t mind you making your own video and getting more in depth and sharing more photos, and telling the backstory of the photos. Also the interviewer should mute his mic, he was breathing into it for the majority of the video while you spoke.

I think some of the Marines from the actual unit portrayed in Generation kill where also actors in the series.
