Im English, and live in the county of Northamptonshire. I remember pups looking like this, in the 70s and 80s, not so much anymore, so I think you guys have done a remarkable job in, capturing the essence of a traditional English pub. On my travels, Im always seeing old pub memorabilia for sale eg...pint glasses, beer mats, drip trays and the like.

Phenomenal work! I am so jealous of the homeowner. I would love to have a Tudor revival, 1920s speakeasy in my basement! I'm curious to see how the posts will be treated.

I’m a great fan of oak panelling and congratulate you on what you are achieving. Quarter sawn, fumed oak would be the highest quality. I have to offer a contrary comment to another responder however; in all my life, I have never been in a pub which has this level of quality. Let’s assume that I’ve been to over a thousand pubs over the last 55 years of drinking beer; I’ve seen puns with a panelled wall or a remarkable fireplace but never 100% oak paneling, columns and ceilings. Where I have seen this aesthetic and what your room really resonates me is in London clubs. These clubs generally were founded on the 18th century and are centred around the Pall Mall area of London. Very much bastions of the establishment. Many of the rooms that I’ve been (invited) into look exactly like this Texan room except that the London rooms would have a lot of paintings and, of course, natural daylight. Thinking about it, the other 2 places that has the same aesthetics are the London restaurants , Simpson in the Strand and Rules (Covent Garden). Differences of course, but rather more accessible to the public. I should say that if any visitor would like a guide to the restaurant with informed views on the menus, then I would be happy to oblige; all for the price of the (quite expensive) meal. Sorry, just trying for a free elegant experience!

Are you stripping the panels down and restaining to get everything to match like that? Just been lucky that nothing faded or yellowed over the years? Cool room though was following the build over on Richards channel but he hasn't posted anything on this project in awhile, nice to see it coming together.

I wish someone local could do these panels. Tudor Artisans is the only place I saw and who knows what their prices are now. I’m curious to know who much recreation Tudor paneling cost?

The owner MUST get a liquor license and open the Pub. Don’t forget the beer cooler room and ice makers. It MUST have a whole bunch of gentlemen in it having pints and talking insurrection.
