My favorite Christian song of all time. As a counselor and recovering addict, it makes me realize how much God has loved me through years of pain and brokenness.

Personally, one of the most beautiful christian songs I've ever heard. I remember my parents playing it in the car all the time. The first time I heard it I fell in love completely and immediately with it. I remember I listened very carefully to the lyrics, turned my head towards the window, and cried quietly so my parents wouldn't see. This song really makes you think and appreciate what kind of a King we are worshipping--a perfect, gracious, and humble one.

This song means so much to me as someone who comes from a broken family abandoned by my dad before I could even say a word. My great aunt and uncle whose a pastor tricked my mom out of thousands of dollars she had saved up. My mom was going through a tough time after her divorce with my dad and my great aunt and uncle spread lies about my mom making the CPS (child protective service) having to take my older brother and I in foster care. But God was in control. For 4 years my brother and I stayed in foster care was in a pastor’s care we felt loved. But deep down I didn’t feel that father’s love. We had great and times and great memories with his family. But the love of a biological parents wasn’t there but when my mom met God and gave her life to God she fasted and prayed and cried out to God on her knees before the cross. And by God’s grace, mercy and love she gained custody back. She did what she promised God if she ever get custody of my brother and I back she will dedicate our lives to God and make sure we grew up in church. So we did but deep down I did t really believe it because of the pain I have been through and the unforgiving heart that I had towards my parents. It wasn’t until I was 18 I went to Bible seminary at first I went there just to get my mom off my back. But little did I know what God was about to do in my life as a high school drop out, I didn’t know how was accepted in the Bible college. But I was and there was where God showed up in ways I never experienced before. It was the first time I felt God’s love in a way I could never explain, I was there at the foot of the cross on my knees crying because it was the first time I’ve ever experienced a love I never knew existed. Even though I had pastors who was a father figure in my life I love them and their family. And when I finally forgive I felt this heavy burden lifted off of me. It felt so light to a point I felt like I could literally fly. There at the foot of the cross I got so week (physically) I had to lay prostrate before the cross. At that point I didn’t know what forgiving my parents and myself would do. Until the night before graduation, we played this game where u pick out a piece of paper that is passed around in a hat and answer the question when I read the question I asked can I change this question? And they said yes according to the rules yes u can change but only once. But it’s the same question and the question was “if there is a friend or family member u haven’t met in a long time or a friend and family member that have hurt u so bad and u met them what would u do and say” my thought went to my dad. And at that moment I didn’t realize why I said it but my answer was “it would be my dad I would run to him and give him the biggest hug and say to him I love u and forgive and I hope and pray that u have met the Lord like I have and if he hasn’t I would share the love of God and His gospel with my dad” after I said that I was in shock because before I wanted to kill him because of the pain and hurt he had caused my mom, brother and I and abandoning us. Right when I asked myself what just happened and why did I say that? Then I heard God’s still small voice “My son whom I have loved before u were even conceived in ur mother’s womb that’s because you truly forgiven ur parents and that’s what My love can do” right after I heard that from God I cried. Now I’m in my 30’s still serving the Lord went on mission trips to countries where it’s dangerous to spread God’s word. Still passionate about God’s word, and still amazed on what His love can do to me. And if that’s what He can do for me He can and will do for you if you let Him. He wants to but are you willing to let Him in even into the parts of your life where it hurts? And where your afraid to even talk about it because of the pain and hurt. Please let Him into those areas in your life. It may hurt when God’s dealing with it for you but it sure is worth it.

I was sent this song this morning and scrolling through the comments. You're story is similar to mine with close relationships hurting me. The only and best thing we can do is forgive. God will take care of the ones that hurt. I was so blessed and encouraged by your words. I will i choose to look to My Saviour.

They don't make/promote enough of these type of songs anymore. Such beautiful lyrics highlight the realities of who our Savior is met with song and true adoration for His heart and the heart of the Godhead. 💗

wow, what a wonderful worship... as for me, whether he's wearing hat or not, Brenton Brown sang the song with pure heart... Glory to God for that..... it just reflect that God seeks the humble, pure in heart in worship, no matter who you are, or what you have.....we don't know the reason why he is wearing like that, better send him a personal message, i know he has a reason or purpose in having that attire... it's only him who can share with you the facts... Blessed day to all....

@UKKENYA: This is the beauty about our Lord Jesus Christ that we as His dicipples can talk (pray) anytime 24/7 (sinced God is living in eternal dimension), anywhere (even when we are sitting in our toilet or taking a shower), any situation, any potition (not like islam they have to face Kabah in Arab everytime they pray), our Lord and God will always listen to our prayer no matter what...we are not living in the old testament time but we are now liviing in the era of Grace because of Jesus Christ our Lord. Remember Jesus tell the story about tax collector and pharisee went up to the temple to pray in the gospel of Luke 18:9-14 ???? God always looking through our heart not our appearance, no hat or with hat he doesn't care....sing and praise Him that you mean it...God will smile and enjoy our worship. God bless you UKKENYA.

@UKKENYA I Samuel 12:7-But the LORD said to Samuel, “Do not consider his appearance or his height, for I have rejected him. The LORD does not look at the things man looks at. Man looks at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.”

@ UKKENA When Jesus was walking this earth he didn't care much for protocols and even washed his own disciples feet, he wasn't interested in how we came dressed to him only that we came. We have a motto in out church "no perfect people allowed" Hats or beards, unshaven or shaved, that is only the outer covering, God looks into our hearts where we can't pretend because he can see right to the heart of us and that is what he is interested in, not how we look.

Just about anyone can end up with acne breakouts. My slightly older friend had it as severely as his kid. Both were able to remedy themselves when they found the Acne Executioner (Google it). Most people aren’t going to be as lucky as them however look it over if you like.

hats ?? excuse me, listen to the words and the music, I hope I will hear it in heaven, Jesus accepts us as we are and he gives us our gifts and talents, Brenton has both, forget about his dress code, God does not give a stuff about either. It is Breton's heart he is concerned about.

What's wrong with wearing the hat?:o
@GR8UKGB14 жыл бұрын
@BabyandThings - i agree with that verse 100% but on the other hand there are some requests by God on how we present our selves when we enter prayer and worship. Also I don't belive God would waste a couple of verses in the bible saying men are not to cover their heads when praying or worshiping (same) if it didn't matter at all nor would would he want to confuse us by saying one thing and wanting the opposite.To dismiss any part of the bible for convenience sake or fashion is not good practice.
@GR8UKGB14 жыл бұрын
don't want to detract from the song, but before I continue to watch the rest i have to say it's a shame this Worship Leader of all people is wearing a hat. I'm not judging his sincerirty or walk with the Lord but the scriptures in the NT clearly instruct us as Men to not wear hats when praying or worshiping.We're not to argue or try and look for a way out, it's just a command from the Lord. I play the drums in worship & am very much aware we are to set the example as we lead people into worship
@GR8UKGB14 жыл бұрын
@limni1000 - you make sense (with mans logic) but I don't belive God would waste a couple of verses in the bible saying men are not to cover their heads when praying or worshiping (same) if it didn't matter at all nor would would he want to confuse us by saying one thing and wanting the opposite. Its not the most important command but to dismiss any part of the bible for convenience sake or fashion is not good practice.
@GR8UKGB14 жыл бұрын
@BabyandThings - ...when it come to salvation and judging our intentions and so forth yes of course but be careful to 100% dismiss any outward appearence, if you were right to say it doesn't matter then Paul was wasting a lot of his time when instructing Christians (in establishing the new Church - ie NT+) on how we are to conduct ourselves when worshiping the Lord. Otherwise he was wrong and you are right. (eg: Men should not have long hair, men - no hats in prayer, women not to teach men etc)
