Remembering that Australian team from 1999-2009. Hayden, Gilchrist, ponting, clarke, martin, hussey, watson, lee, McGrath, Johnson, etc... All legends of Australia Playing in that team... Awee... the toughest team to be beat at that time...

@@vardaankoul7199 I think Australia won the 2009 champions trophy as well that happened late in the year. The golden era Aus team was so strong that they could win a tournament even with ageing players and few retirements.

@@grovsey3656 I agree with the other names, but Mitchell Johnson? I don't think Mitch was better than Lee in Limited overs cricket. Lee has a better bowling average, bowling strike rate; he's picked more wickets and has more 5 wicket hauls in ODIs. And, even if you ignore the stats, Lee's impact in white ball cricket for Australia is far more significant, something that can be seen even more clearly since McGrath's retirement. And, I know pace is not the most important factor for a fast bowler to take wickets, but, Lee could still bowl over 150kph in 2012, at the age of 36. In contrast, by the time Johnson played against India in 2014, aged 32-33, he'd already lost quite a bit of pace compared to 2012-ish times. (He was still fast, but not as fast as he was in 2012). Lee had great fitness, and could bowl fast and consistently well despite being injury prone. I can't really say the same for Johnson. Mitch was still taking wickets, but his line and length were just not good enough, his economy rates in the series against India and then New Zealand weren't that great either, but, since he was reaching retirement age, and most fast bowlers retire around 32-33 years of age, I'll cut him some slack. In Tests though, I will agree, Mitch is quite far ahead of Lee, without doubt. He was also really good at sledging, somehow managing to get under the noses of even well-set batsmen. He was great with his mind games, rivaled possibly only by players like Shoaib Akhtar and Glenn McGrath among fast bowlers playing around the same time as him.

Great nostalgia from watching this, all my favourite second-string Aussie players were in this side: Cameron White, Tim Paine, Nathan Hauritz, and Callum Ferguson, the 'what could have been' players of that generation. Plus the somehwat overlooked Nathan Bracken. Never mind the legends, I loved watching these blokes play.
